Spatial analysis and characterization of sexual violence against children and adolescents in Bahia

Resumo: The study aimed to analyze the phenomenon of sexual violence against children and adolescents in the state of Bahia, between 2014 and 2016, since its characterization to spatial relations. This is an ecological study of reported cases of sexual violence in children and adolescents, which occurred in Bahia, with sociodemographic characterization of cases, occurrences and aggressors; time trend of rates and Moran statistic I for spatial analysis. A total of 2,443 cases were reported, the victims were mostly female (85.2%), mean age 12 years and brown (69.3%); the aggressors were known (44.2%) and males (95.0%). In relation to the distribution of rates, there was a variation from 1.7/100,000 inhabitants in January 2014 to 1.0/100,000 inhabitants in December 2016. In spatialization, there was an incidence of the phenomenon in almost all of the municipalities of Bahia (96%) with high-high cluster formation at approximately 6%. Thus, it is concluded that children and adolescents are potentially exposed to sexual violence. The spatialization of cases opens a range of possibilities for planning health surveillance strategies, aiming at more assertive interventions.

Se trata de un estudio ecológico de los casos notificados de violencia sexual en niños y adolescentes, que ocurrieron en Bahía, con caracterización sociodemográfica de casos, de las ocurrencias y agresores; tendencia temporal de las tasas y la estadística I de Moran para el análisis espacial. Se notificaron un total de 2.443 casos, las víctimas fueron en su mayoría mujeres (85,2%), edad media 12 años y marrón (69,3%); se conocíaa a los agresores (44,2%) y los hombres (95,0%). En relación con la distribución de las tarifas, hubo una variación de 1,7/100.000 habitantes en enero de 2014 a 1,0/100.000 habitantes en diciembre de 2016. En la espacialización, hubo una incidencia del fenómeno en casi todos los municipios de Bahía (96%) formación de racimos altos y altos en aproximadamente el 6%. Por lo tanto, se concluye que los niños y adolescentes están potencialmente expuestos a la violencia sexual. La espacialización de los casos abre una serie de posibilidades para planificar estrategias de vigilancia de la salud, con el objetivo de intervenciones más asertivas.O estudo teve como objetivo analisar o fenômeno da  violência sexual contra crianças e adolescentes no estado da Bahia, entre 2014 e 2016, desde a sua caracterização  às relações espaciais. Trata-se de um estudo ecológico dos casos notificados de violência sexual em crianças e adolescentes, ocorridos na Bahia, com caracterização sociodemográfica dos casos, das ocorrências e dos agressores; tendência temporal das taxas e estatística I de Moran para análise espacial. Foram notificados 2.443 casos, as vítimas foram majoritariamente do sexo feminino (85,2%), média de idade 12 anos e pardas (69,3%); os agressores eram conhecidos (44,2%) e do sexo masculino (95,0%). Em relação a distribuição das taxas se observou variação de 1,7/100 mil hab. em janeiro de 2014, para 1,0/100 mil hab. em dezembro de 2016. Na espacialização observou-se incidência do fenômeno em quase totalidade dos municípios baianos (96%) com formação de clusters alto-alto em aproximadamente 6%. Assim, conclui-se que as crianças e adolescentes estão potencialmente expostos a violência sexual.
