Resumo: The idea of this research emanates from the verification of the incisive presence of workers from Pará migrating to the state of Santa Catarina. The objective was to understand the migratory phenomenon for work. The methodology used books, articles and interviews with families and migrants. The result points to migration for work as a dramatic mechanism to over unemployment. In conclusion, people  from the state of Pará, in north of the country, are looking for work and better living in the state of Santa Catarina, Southern Brazil.

El objetivo fue comprender el fenómeno migratorio por motivos de trabajo. El procedimiento metodológico se llevó a cabo a través de investigación bibliográfica, entrevistas con familias migrantes y aplicación de un formulario con personas desplazadas para Santa Catarina. El resultado apunta a la migración por trabajo como un mecanismo dramático para superar el desempleo. La guisa conclusiva muestra que los paraenses están saliendo del norte del país, em busca de trabajo asalariado y mejores condiciones de vida em el estado de Santa Catarina, sur de Brasil.A ideia inicial desta pesquisa emana da verificação da incisiva presença de trabalhadores paraenses migrando para o estado de Santa Catarina. O objetivo foi compreender o fenômeno migratório por trabalho. O procedimento metodológico ocorreu a partir de pesquisa bibliográfica, entrevista com famílias de migrantes e aplicação de formulário com pessoas deslocadas para Santa Catarina. O resultado aponta a migração por trabalho como um mecanismo dramático de superar o desemprego.
