Globalization in debate: report of a didactic sequence with elementary school students

Resumo: Globalization is a current and necessary topic for the debate with students of Basic Education. In addition, it integrates the curricular components of Geography in the Final Years of Elementary School, especially in the 8th and 9th years. Based on this, the present article aimed to report on a review activity on the content of globalization that was developed with a 9th grade class of Elementary School, EMEF Junto ao CAIC Luizinho de Grandi, Santa Maria/RS, in February 2019. This activity involved critical reflective debates and used different didactic resources, thus enhancing the student’s argument on the subject and leading them to a more consistent interpretation of what is and the consequences and potential of globalization. It was concluded that the didactic sequence proved to be effective and contributed to dynamize the pedagogical space of the classroom by stimulating the student’s critical thinking and their positioning in the current context of the global world.

Con base en ello, el presente artículo objetivó relatar una actividad de revisión sobre el contenido globalización que fue desarrollada con una clase de 9º año, de la Enseñanza Fundamental, de la EMEF Junto ao CAIC Luizinho de Grandi, Santa Maria/RS, en febrero de 2019. Esta actividad involucró debates críticos reflexivos y diferentes recursos didácticos, potenciando así la argumentación de los alumnos frente a la temática y conduciéndolos a una interpretación más consistente de lo que es y de las consecuencias y potencialidades de la globalización. Se concluye que la secuencia didáctica se mostró eficaz y contribuyó a dinamizar el espacio pedagógico del aula incitando el pensamiento crítico de los alumnos y sus posicionamientos frente al contexto actual del mundo global.A globalização é um tema atual e necessário ao debate com os alunos da Educação Básica. Além disso, integra os componentes curriculares de Geografia nos Anos Finais do Ensino Fundamental, especialmente nos 8ºs e 9ºs anos. Com base nisso, o presente artigo objetivou relatar uma atividade de revisão sobre o conteúdo globalização que foi desenvolvida com uma turma de 9º ano, do Ensino Fundamental, da EMEF Junto ao CAIC Luizinho de Grandi, Santa Maria/RS, em fevereiro de 2019. Essa atividade envolveu debates críticos reflexivos e utilizou diferentes recursos didáticos, potencializando, assim, a arguição dos alunos frente à temática e conduzindo-os a uma interpretação mais consistente do que é e das consequências e potencialidades da globalização.
