Constructive and investigative knowledge production in corrosion science practices

Resumo: | In engineering courses, the epistemological foundations of a science in corrosion are hardly discussed, which leads to discipline be considered difficult to understand. This encourages the search for a more attractive approach by the teacher. The aim of this study was to show how it is possible to overcome the paradigm of difficulty learning corrosion and its chemical mechanisms using an active learning methodology. We conducted a qualitative research, which proposes an investigative approach to the construction of knowledge through the practice of corrosion. It was found that the students and teacher liked the part practices and large classes said there were improved learning in relation to corrosion science practices. It was possible to overcome the paradigm of difficulty in learning and its chemical corrosion mechanisms, through an active learning methodology approach, constructive and investigative knowledge production in relation to corrosion. |

La disciplina de Corrosión predispone el conocimiento anterior de disciplinas en el área de química y prescinde de cierto conocimiento químico práctico-laboratorial a priori. Las bases epistemológicas de una ciencia en corrosión, así transmitida, difícilmente son discutidas y, con ello, acaban fortaleciendo y ayudando a prevalecer creencias tácitas de disciplina de difícil entendimiento por parte de los alumnos. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo proponer un enfoque coherente sobre el currículo para ingeniería que concilie lo que es ciencia en la corrosión, cómo se produce en la comunidad científica y se vuelve a crear en la forma pedagógica. La metodología empleada es la investigación orientada, que utiliza clases investigativas y experimentales donde es posible alcanzar un aprendizaje significativo y una aproximación de los alumnos con esa disciplina. El resultado de este trabajo es un enfoque constructivo investigativo en la construcción de conocimiento a través de la práctica de la corrosión.No ensino de corrosão para o ensino superior nas engenharias Metalúrgicas e de Materiais, observam-se alguns paradigmas a serem superados na apropriação e desenvolvimento do conhecimento por parte do aluno. A disciplina de Corrosão predispõe o conhecimento anterior de disciplinas na área de química e prescinde de certo conhecimento químico prático-laboratorial a priori. As bases epistemológicas de uma ciência em corrosão, assim transmitida, dificilmente são discutidas e, com isso, acabam fortalecendo e ajudando a prevalecer crenças tácitas de disciplina de difícil entendimento por parte dos alunos. Esse trabalho tem como objetivo propor uma abordagem coerente sobre o currículo para engenharia que concilie o que é ciência na corrosão, como ela é produzida na comunidade científica e recriada na forma pedagógica. A metodologia empregada é a investigação orientada, que utiliza aulas investigativas e experimentais onde é possível alcançar uma aprendizagem significativa e uma aproximação dos alunos com essa disciplina. O resultado desse trabalho é uma abordagem construtiva investigativa na construção conhecimento através da prática de corrosão.
