Access of transvestites and transsexual women to Primary Health Care Services: integrative literature review

Resumo: Objective: To analyze the scientific knowledge online published on transvestites and transsexual women's access to primary health care services. Method: The electronic databases Lilacs, Cochrane, Medline, SciELO, BDENF, and Google Scholar were searched. It was applied the following expressions: primary health care, transgender persons, health services accessibility, health services for transgender persons. Online full text of the articles available in Portuguese, English, and Spanish was selected. Studies were characterized according to country, year of publication, and type of study. Based on a critique, the contents were summarized into categories. Results: A total of eight (8) texts were integrated into three categories:  access as a construct should be extended, the profile of health services used by transvestites and transsexual women, and barriers to the population access the health services. Conclusion: The available studies are incipient regarding the barriers of access to health services by those women, especially in primary healthcare.

Método: revisión integradora de la literatura disponible en las bases de datos Lilacs, Cochrane, Medline, SciELO, BDENF y Google Scholar. En ellos, se aplicaron los descriptores "atención primaria de salud", "personas transgénero", "acceso a servicios de salud" y "servicios de salud para personas transgénero". Los textos incluidos fueron textos disponibles en su totalidad en un sistema abierto en portugués, inglés y español. Los autores se caracterizaron, ubicación, año de publicación, tipo de estudio y análisis temático. Resultados: La integración de los ocho (8) textos generó tres tendencias: el acceso como constructo a expandir; perfil de los servicios de salud utilizados por travestis y mujeres transexuales; y principales barreras de acceso. Conclusión: Los estudios son incipientes y no miden el acceso de estas mujeres a los servicios, especialmente en Atención Primaria de Salud.Objetivo: Analisar o conhecimento científico publicado sobre acesso de travestis e mulheres transexuais aos serviços de atenção primária à saúde. Método: Revisão integrativa de literatura disponível nas bases de dados Lilacs, Cochrane, Medline, SciELO, BDENF e Google Scholar. Nelas, aplicaram-se os descritores “atenção primária à saúde”, “pessoas transgênero”, “acesso aos serviços de saúde” e “serviços de saúde para pessoas transgênero”. Os textos incluídos foram textos disponíveis na íntegra em sistema aberto nos idiomas português, inglês e espanhol, totalizando oito (8) publicações. Procedeu-se a caracterização dos autores, local, ano de publicação, tipo de estudo e análise temática. Resultados: A síntese dos textos gerou três tendências: acesso como constructo a ser ampliado; perfil de serviços de saúde utilizados pelas travestis e mulheres transexuais; e principais barreiras de acesso.
