Problem-Based Learning: An intervention proposal for the teaching of Geosciences in Vocational and Technological Education

Resumo: Problem-Based Learning (PBL) seeks to make students more independent, providing opportunities for them to take responsibility for their learning process. In this sense, we selected the PBL as an active teaching methodology for the development of this work. The research in question intends to use the PBL as a pedagogical intervention instrument in the teaching of Geosciences in Professional and Technological Education, in a class of the 6th period of an Integrated Technical Course, in the Youth and Adult Education modality, at the Federal Institute of Goiás. To achieve this objective, some pre-defined methodologies were used, such as: prior explanation of the content to situate students on the subject; use of the problem-question to instigate them to develop critical and autonomous thinking; quizzes to express your knowledge before and after watching educational videos; and, finally, a new questionnaire to assess the proposed methodology. As a result, we realized that 100% of the students approved the methodology used, which allows us to conclude that the intervention proposal was successful.

Fue con estas posibilidades en mente que seleccionamos el ABP como una metodología de enseñanza activa para desarrollar este trabajo. La investigación en mención tiene como objetivo utilizar el ABP como herramienta de intervención pedagógica en la enseñanza de las Geociencias en la Educación Profesional y Tecnológica, en una clase del 6° período del Curso Técnico Integrado de la Secretaría Escolar, en la modalidad Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos, de el Instituto Federal de Goiás. Para lograr este objetivo, se utilizaron algunas metodologías predefinidas, tales como: explicación previa del contenido para la inserción de los estudiantes en la disciplina; uso de preguntas problema para alentarlos a desarrollar un pensamiento crítico y autónomo; cuestionarios para expresar su conocimiento antes y después de ver videos educativos; y, finalmente, un nuevo cuestionario para evaluar la metodología propuesta. Como resultado, notamos que el 100% de los estudiantes aprobaron la metodología utilizada, lo que nos permite concluir que la propuesta de intervención fue exitosa.A Aprendizagem Baseada em Problemas (ABP) busca tornar os alunos mais independentes, oportunizando meios para que assumam a responsabilidade pelo seu processo de aprendizagem. Foi pensando nestas possibilidades, que selecionamos a ABP como metodologia ativa de ensino para desenvolvermos este trabalho. A pesquisa em questão, tem o objetivo de utilizar a ABP como ferramenta para intervenção pedagógica no ensino de Geociências na Educação Profissional e Tecnológica, em uma turma do 6º período do curso Técnico Integrado em Secretaria Escolar, na modalidade Educação de Jovens e Adultos, do Instituto Federal de Goiás. Para alcançar este objetivo, foram utilizadas algumas metodologias pré-definidas, como: explanação prévia do conteúdo para situar os estudantes sobre a temática; utilização de pergunta-problema para instigá-los a desenvolver um pensamento crítico e autônomo; questionários para manifestarem seus conhecimentos antes e após passagem de vídeos didáticos; e, por fim, um novo questionário para avaliarem a metodologia proposta.
