Home confinement, quality of life and academic performance of psychology students throughout the new coronavirus pandemic

Resumo: COVID-19 is a contagious disease, of immeasurable proportions, caused by SARS-CoV-2 (new coronavirus). Due to this scenario, we are facing a great challenge, for which we still don't have all the answers. This study aimed to investigate the influence of the pandemic on quality of life and its relationship with the permanence of students enrolled in the Psychology course at campus AC Simões, Federal University of Alagoas. This is a quantitative research, obtained with the application of the Likert-type scale instrument added by a situational and sociodemographic inventory and the assessment of quality of life through the WHOQOL-bref tool. Based on the research results, it was possible to reflect a feeling of being more or less covered by the various consequences on quality of life and the significant impacts in this process, especially in the way we will live and work. Dialogue on care practices and new procedures for the functioning of classes, learning and administrative components will be endowed with virtuality in place of face-to-face support. The results suggest that the pandemic situation can be considered a determinant that affects different dimensions of students' lives and, in view of such changes, digital transformations will come to play a leading role in life inside and outside universities.

Ante este escenario, enfrentamos a un gran desafío, aún no tenemos todas las respuestas. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar la influencia de la pandemia en la calidad de vida y su relación con la permanencia de los estudiantes matriculados en el curso de Psicología en el campus A. C. Simões de la Universidad Federal de Alagoas (UFAL). Se trata de una investigación cuantitativa, con datos obtenidos mediante la aplicación de un instrumento de escala tipo Likert, inventario situacional, sociodemográfico y evaluación de la calidad de vida, a través de la herramienta WHOQOL-bref. A partir de los resultados se pudo evidenciar un sentimiento de estar más o menos cubiertos por las diversas consecuencias sobre la calidad de vida y los impactos significativos en este proceso, especialmente en la forma en que viviremos y trabajaremos. Se dotará de virtualidad al diálogo sobre prácticas asistenciales y nuevos procedimientos para el funcionamiento de las clases, componentes de aprendizaje y administrativos en lugar del apoyo presencial. Los resultados sugieren que el contexto pandémico puede ser considerado un determinante que afecta a diferentes dimensiones de la vida de los estudiantes y que, ante tales cambios, las transformaciones digitales pasarán a tener un papel protagónico en la vida dentro y fuera de las universidades.A COVID-19 é uma doença contagiosa, de proporções ainda imensuráveis, provocada pelo SARS-CoV-2 (novo coronavírus). Diante desse cenário, vivemos um grande desafio, para o qual ainda não temos todas as respostas. Este estudo objetivou investigar a influência da pandemia na qualidade de vida e sua relação com a permanência dos (as) estudantes matriculados (as) no curso de Psicologia do campus A. C. Simões da Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL). Trata-se de uma pesquisa quantitativa, com dados obtidos através da aplicação do instrumento de escala do tipo Likert, acrescido de inventário situacional, sociodemográfico e avaliação de qualidade de vida, através da ferramenta WHOQOL-bref. A partir dos resultados foi possível revelar um sentimento de mais ou menos contemplados às diversas consequências na qualidade de vida e nos impactos significativos nesse processo, principalmente na forma como viveremos e trabalharemos. O diálogo sobre práticas de cuidado e novos procedimentos para o funcionamento das aulas, aprendizagem e componentes administrativos serão dotados pela virtualidade em substituição ao suporte presencial.
