Resumo: Objective: to investigate the prevalence and factors associated with domestic violence among women users of nine units of the basic attention to health of Maceió-Al. Methodology: Quantitative, exploratory, cross-sectional and descriptive study.cross-sectional. Conducted in in nine basic health units in the eight health districts in the city of Maceió-Al. Participated in the research 247 women users of nine primary health care units, living in the city of Maceió - Al, aged between 18 and 49 years old. It was used the instrument Abuse Assesment Screen (AAS) for detection of violence and a structured form to characterize the socio-demographic data of the interviewees. Results: among the 247 interviewed, was detected 43.72% prevalence of domestic violence. There was a significant association between physical violence with family income and the partner's age, smoking, alcohol use and violence during childhood. Conclusion: the data showed high prevalence of domestic violence in your most practiced by intimate partner. It is necessary to greater investments in training with the pros of the basic health units to recognize and deal with domestic violence.

Método: Estudio cualitativo de naturaleza exploratorio, transversal y descriptivo, realizado en nueve unidades de salud (entre los ocho distritos sanitarios) de Maceió-AL. Participaron de esta investigación 247 mujeres que utilizan el servicio de una de las nueve unidades de salud, que viven en Maceió-AL, con edad entre 19 y 49 anos. Se utilizó el instrumento Abuse Assesment Screen (AAS) para detectar la violencia doméstica y un formulario estructurado para recoger los datos sociales y económicos de las entrevistadas. Resultado: Entre las 247 mujeres entrevistadas, se detectó la prevalencia de 43,72% de violencia de matrimonio. Hubo gran asociación entre violencia física y renta familiar y edad del agresor, fumo, alcohol y violencia que el agresor sufrió en la infancia. Conclusión: Los datos revelaron gran prevalencia de violencia de matrimonio practicada por su parcero (mayoría). Así surge la necesidad de investir en la capacitación de los profesionales de las unidades de salud para reconocer y manejar frente la violencia de matrimonio.Objetivo: investigar a prevalência e fatores associados à violência doméstica. Metodologia: Estudo quantitativo de natureza exploratória, de corte transversal e descritivo. Realizado em nove unidades básicas de saúde dos oito distritos sanitários do município de Maceió-Al. Participaram da pesquisa 247 mulheres usuárias de nove unidades de atenção básica de saúde, residentes no município de Maceió – Al, na faixa etária entre 18 a 49 anos de idade. Foi utilizado o instrumento Abuse Assesment Screen (AAS) para detecção da violência e um formulário estruturado para caracterização dos dados sócio demográficos das entrevistadas. Resultados: entre as 247 entrevistadas, foi detectado prevalência de 43,72% de violência doméstica. Houve associação significativa entre violência física com renda familiar e idade do parceiro, tabagismo, uso de álcool e violência na infância. Conclusão: os dados mostraram alta prevalência de violência doméstica, em sua maioria praticada pelo parceiro íntimo.
