Analysis of the importance of a community restaurant of the Distrito Federal to reduce the food insecurity of users during the COVID-19 pandemic

Resumo: | The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically affected the life of the Brazilian population in the most diverse areas, especially with regard to food. In view of this current health crisis, the theme on Food Insecurity has gained prominence in the field of public health. Defined as a condition in which a given population, a region or country does not have social and economic access to nutritious food, food insecurity was aggravated during the outbreak by the Novo Coronavírus, evidencing the social inequality that still persists in the country, reinforcing the need and importance of strengthening community restaurants as effective public policies to reduce it. The main objective of this study is to analyze the importance of community restaurant to reduce the food insecurity of users during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a cross-sectional and descriptive research conducted in an administrative region of the Distrito Federal with 100 individuals who attend the community restaurant. Data collection occurred through the application of a form (interview), being a convenience sample. Through the results obtained, it can be seen that 87% of the interviewees were inserted in some degree of Food Insecurity and that the main reason that made the Community Restaurant essential in the food aspect during the pandemic period is due to the same providing quality healthy meals with affordable price (66.7%). In summary, it is noted that the Community Restaurant collaborated in a crucial way to reduce the food insecurity frameworks of its diners through the offer of balanced and affordable meals. |

Dada esta crisis sanitaria actual, el tema de la inseguridad alimentaria ha cobrado protagonismo en el ámbito de la salud colectiva.Definida como una condición en la que una determinada población de una región o país no tiene acceso social y económico a alimentos nutritivos, la inseguridad alimentaria se agravó durante el brote del Nuevo Coronavirus, poniendo de manifiesto la desigualdad social que aún persiste en el país, reforzando la necesidad e importancia de fortalecer los restaurantes comunitarios como políticas públicas eficaces para reducirla. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo principal analizar la importancia del Restaurante Comunitario en la reducción de la inseguridad alimentaria de los usuarios durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Se trata de una pesquisa transversal y descriptiva realizada en una región administrativa del Distrito Federal con 100 personas que frecuentan el restaurante de la comunidad. La obtención de datos se realizó mediante la aplicación de un formulario (entrevista), siendo una muestra de conveniencia.A través de los resultados obtenidos, se puede observar que el 87% de los entrevistados se encuentran insertos en algún grado de Inseguridad Alimentaria y que la principal razón que hizo que el Restaurante Comunitario fuera esencial en términos de alimentación durante el período de la pandemia es porque proporciona comidas saludables, de calidad y asequibles (66,7%). En resumen, se constata que el Restaurante Comunitario ha colaborado de forma crucial a la reducción de la inseguridad alimentaria entre sus comensales ofreciendo comidas equilibradas y accesibles. A pandemia de COVID-19 afetou drasticamente a vida da população brasileira nas mais diversas áreas, principalmente no que se diz respeito à alimentação. Diante desta atual crise sanitária, a temática sobre a Insegurança Alimentar ganhou destaque no âmbito da saúde coletiva. Definida como uma condição em que uma determinada população, de uma região ou país não tem acesso social e econômico a alimentos nutritivos, os quadros de insegurança alimentar se agravaram durante o surto pelo Novo Coronavírus, evidenciando a desigualdade social que ainda persiste no país, reforçando a necessidade e a importância do fortalecimento dos restaurantes comunitários como políticas públicas eficazes para reduzi-la. O presente estudo tem como objetivo principal analisar a importância do Restaurante Comunitário para diminuição da insegurança alimentar de usuários durante a pandemia da COVID-19. Trata-se de uma pesquisa transversal e descritiva realizada em uma região administrativa do Distrito Federal com 100 indivíduos que frequentam o restaurante comunitário. A coleta de dados ocorreu através da aplicação de um formulário (entrevista), sendo uma amostra por conveniência. Por meio dos resultados obtidos, pode-se constatar que 87% dos entrevistados estavam inseridos em algum grau de Insegurança Alimentar e que o principal motivo que tornou o Restaurante Comunitário essencial no quesito alimentação durante o período pandémico se deve em virtude do mesmo fornecer refeições saudáveis de qualidade e com preço acessível (66,7%).
