Approach to the theme “pollution” in ENEM questions and in textbooks: a comparative study around competences and skills

Resumo: The present work aims at analyzing the questions of Natural Sciences in the tests of the Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM), regarding the competences and skills determined by the ENEM Reference Matrix (ENEM RM), and to evaluate the approach of Biology textbooks approved by the National Textbook Program (PNLD) 2018 under this same perspective. For that, the Biology's questions of the ENEM tests of 2018 and 2019 were classified according to the theme and subtheme, and evaluated concernig the required competencies and skills. The three Biology textbooks of the PNLD 2018 most used in Brazilian public schools were analyzed as well. Ecology and Pollution were, respectively, the themes and subthemes most present in the analyzed tests. To solve the questions, different competencies and skills were required, with emphasis on the competence C3 and on the skills H10 and H12. In the analyzed textbooks, complementary materials on the themes, diverse visual resources and activities were highlighted. No multidisciplinary problems were found. The evaluated textbooks presented quite different approaches regarding the competences and abilities. In this way, it becomes evident that efforts are needed so that the High School may effectively offer to the students opportunities to develop competences and skills by means of interdisciplinary teaching, contextualized and focused on the solution of study cases applicable to their daily lives.

Para eso, se clasificaron los temas relacionados con Biología de las pruebas ENEM de 2018 y 2019 de acuerdo al tema y subtema abordado y evaluado en relación a las competencias y habilidades requeridas. También se analizaron los tres LDs de biología del PNLD 2018 más utilizados en las escuelas públicas brasileñas. Ecología y Polución fueron, respectivamente, el tema y subtema más presente en las pruebas analizadas. Para resolver los problemas se requirieron diversas competencias y habilidades, con énfasis en la competencia C3 y habilidades H10 y H12. En los LDs analizados se destacan materiales complementarios sobre temas de actualidad, diversos recursos visuales y actividades. No se encontraron problemas multidisciplinarios. En los trabajos evaluados se presentaron enfoques muy diferentes en relación a competencias y habilidades. Es evidente, por tanto, que son necesarios esfuerzos para que la secundaria ofrezca efectivamente a los estudiantes oportunidades de desarrollar competencias y habilidades a través de una enseñanza interdisciplinaria, contextualizada y orientada a la solución de situaciones problemáticas aplicables a su vida diaria.O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar as questões de Ciências da Natureza de provas do Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM), quanto às competências e habilidades determinadas pela Matriz de Referência do ENEM (MR-ENEM), e avaliar a abordagem dos livros didáticos (LD) de Biologia aprovados pelo Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD) 2018 sob essa mesma óptica. Para tanto, as questões que envolviam Biologia das provas do ENEM de 2018 e 2019 foram classificadas quanto ao tema e subtema abordados e avaliadas quanto às competências e habilidades requeridas. Também foram analisados os três LD de Biologia do PNLD 2018 mais utilizados em escolas públicas brasileiras. Ecologia e Poluição foram, respectivamente, o tema e o subtema mais presentes nas provas analisadas. Para resolução das questões, diversas competências e habilidades foram requeridas, com destaque para a competência C3 e para as habilidades H10 e H12. Nos LD analisados, destacaram-se os materiais complementares sobre temas atuais, recursos visuais diversos e atividades. Não foram encontradas questões multidisciplinares.  Nas obras avaliadas, apresentaram-se abordagens bastante distintas em relação às competências e habilidades.
