The challenges of humanizing in the intensive care unit within the perspectives of health professionals: a literature review

Resumo: The practice of humanization in the intensive care unit contributes to the recovery of the patient as a whole, because it is a potentially heavy, exhausting environment with great physical and psychological impacts, requires patient care in addition to its needs restricted to the state of illness, requires full care, not just the patient, but all involved, family and health team. Based on the complexity of materials and human resources of the Intensive Care Unit, health professionals have many challenges in the process of humanization. The objective of this study was to identify the challenges that health professionals face in humanizing in the Intensive Care Unit. This is a bibliographical study, with an integrative and qualitative analysis of the literature available in virtual libraries. It was identified that professionals have many obstacles in the implementation of humanization, in most of the articles found the biggest challenge was work overload, the difficulty of humanization in the second place, and also humanizing challenges such as lack of communication, limitations and ease of professionals, lack of resources, has favored the lack of humanization. Based on the studies, it was observed that there is a great lack of humanization assistance in the intensive care unit, health professionals have great obstacles in this practice, and it is necessary to have a process of humanization in all health sectors, and in the Intensive Care Unit patients need redoubled care because they are critically ill patients.

Con base en la complejidad de materiales y recursos humanos de la Unidad de Terapia Intensiva, los profesionales de salud poseen muchos desafíos en el proceso de humanización. El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar cuáles son los desafíos que los profesionales de salud enfrentan en humanizar en la Unidad de Terapia Intensiva. Se trata de un estudio bibliográfico, con analisis integrativa, cualitativa de la literatura disponible en bibliotecas virtuales. Se identificó que los profesionales tienen muchos obstáculos en la implementación de la humanización, en la mayoría de los artículos encontrados el mayor desafío fue la sobrecarga de trabajo, la dificultad de humanización en segundo lugar, y también desafíos en humanizar como la falta de comunicación, las limitaciones y la comodidad de los profesionales, la ausencia de recursos, ha favorecido con la falta de humanización. Con base en los estudios, se observó que hay una gran falla en la asistencia de humanización en la unidad de terapia intensiva, los profesionales de la salud tienen grandes obstáculos en tal práctica, y es necesario que haya proceso de humanización en todos los sectores de salud, Unidad de Terapia Intensiva los pacientes necesitan cuidados redoblados por ser pacientes críticos debilitados.                                                                                                  A prática de humanização na unidade de terapia intensiva contribui na recuperação do paciente como um todo, por ser um ambiente potencialmente pesado, exaustivo, de grandes impactos físicos e psicológicos, necessita de cuidados com o paciente além de suas necessidades restritas ao estado de doença, necessita de cuidado integral, não apenas do paciente, mas de todos os envolvidos, família e equipe de saúde. Com base na complexidade de materiais e recursos humanos da Unidade de Terapia Intensiva, os profissionais de saúde possuem muitos desafios no processo de humanização. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar quais são os desafios que os profissionais de saúde enfrentam em humanizar a Unidade de Terapia Intensiva. Trata-se de um estudo bibliográfico, com análise integrativa, qualitativa da literatura disponível em bibliotecas virtuais. Identificou-se que os profissionais têm muitos obstáculos na implementação da humanização, na maioria dos artigos encontrados o maior desafio foi a sobrecarga de trabalho, a dificuldade de humanização em segundo lugar, e também desafios em humanizar como a falta de comunicação, as limitações e comodismo dos profissionais, ausência de recursos, tem favorecido com a falta de humanização.
