Resumo: | During pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum women go through anatomical and functional changes in the pelvic floor that can trigger a decrease in vaginal sensation, reduced blood flow, muscular hypotonia, and vaginal dryness, which can lead to the development of sexual dysfunctions. These alterations can be classified as penetration disturbances, orgasmic disturbance, interest and/or arousal disturbances, and genitopelvic pain during sexual activity. These dysfunctions negatively influence women's quality of life. Objective: The study aimed to gather and analyze evidence on physical therapy interventions and their effectiveness in the rehabilitation process of postpartum sexual dysfunctions. Methods: This is an integrative review conducted in PubMed, PEDro and Scielo databases. We used the Guideline Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses - The PRISMA Statement. The research question was: What are the physical therapy interventions and their effectiveness in the rehabilitation of postpartum sexual dysfunctions? Results: 275 studies were found, 6 of which were selected according to the eligibility criteria. The study showed that early introduction of education on body awareness, use of vibratory devices such as EmbaGyn and Magic Kegel Master and pelvic floor muscle training in postpartum women plays an important role in the effectiveness of improving sexual dysfunctions in the puerperium, in addition to providing sexual self-efficacy and quality of life. |

Utilizou-se o Guideline Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses – The PRISMA Statement. Research, Society and Development2022-11-29info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3780110.33448/rsd-v11i16.37801Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 16; e43111637801Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 16; e43111637801Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 16; e431116378012525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/37801/31388Copyright (c) 2022 Núbia Natália de Oliveira; Sarah Coelho Oliveira; Dayane Maria de Jesus Teixeira; Kelly Aline Rodrigues Costahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessOliveira, Núbia Natália de Oliveira, Sarah Coelho Teixeira, Dayane Maria de Jesus Costa, Kelly Aline Rodrigues 2022-12-18T18:26:42Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/37801Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:51:49.671506Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
