Projective techniques utilization with brazilian children: systematic review

The objective was to carry out a systematic review of empirical articles that used projective techniques in Brazilian children in the last ten years (2011-2021). Therefore, a search was carried out in the Scielo, Lilacs and Pepsic databases, using the descriptors: projective techniques OR projective methods OR projective tests AND children OR childhood. Twenty-seven articles were chosen and analyzed in the following categories: (1) Year of publication, techniques used, places of realization; (2) Validation, standardization, correlation and reliability studies of projective techniques; and (3) Research Context. The results indicate that despite the great advance of Brazilian psychological assessment in recent years, there are still relevant gaps in research with projective techniques for child assessment. In view of the realities found in the country that are in continuous change, further studies regarding the applicability of projective techniques in children are necessary, considering the emphasis on subjectivity that such instruments present are essential to understand their particularities.
