Construction of industrial process models: innovation in the teaching-learning process

Resumo: | This article aims to present the possibility of a creative learning strategy for classes in the Industrial Processes discipline of the Environmental Engineering Course at UEMG. This discipline is seen by many students as difficult to understand, since it addresses the teaching of processes and the knowledge of equipment, in addition to calculations involving sizing, although simple, but which are not routine in Higher Education. Thus, an alternative for a better understanding of the contents of this discipline was the realization of a “Model Exhibition to illustrate Industrial Processes” and aimed to provide an approach to the contents taught in class, in a more dynamic way, facilitating the teaching-learning process. In this event, the students, using their creativity, should make models to illustrate an industrial process chosen by the group. This work made it possible for undergraduates to learn about the development of industrial processes, in addition to allowing familiarization and identification of the various unit operations involved in technological processes of a manufacturing nature. Still, the activities provided an understanding of technological issues, arousing the curiosity of teachers, students and visitors from different areas. |

Muchos estudiantes consideran que la disciplina de Procesos Industriales es difícil de entender, ya que aborda la enseñanza de procesos y conocimiento de equipos, además de los cálculos que involucran el dimensionamiento, aunque simple, pero que no son rutinarios en la Educación Superior. Por lo tanto, una alternativa para una mejor comprensión de los estudios de esta disciplina fue la realización de un "Modelo de demostración para ilustrar los Procesos Industriales" y con el objetivo de permitir una estimación de los contenidos impartidos en la clase, de la manera más económica, facilitando el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. En este evento, los estudiantes que usan la creatividad pueden hacer modelos para ilustrar un proceso industrial elegido por el grupo. Ese trabajo ha permitido a los graduados aprender sobre el desarrollo de procesos industriales, además de permitir la familiarización e identificación de las diversas operaciones unitarias utilizadas en procesos tecnológicos de naturaleza manufacturera. Aún, las actividades proporcionaron la comprensión de interrogaciones tecnológicas, despertando la curiosidad de docentes, discentes y visitantes de diversas áreas.Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar a possibilidade de uma estratégia criativa de aprendizagem para as aulas da disciplina Processos Industriais do Curso de Engenharia Ambiental da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (UEMG). Essa disciplina é vista por muitos discentes como de difícil entendimento, visto que aborda o ensino de processos e o conhecimento de equipamentos, além de cálculos envolvendo dimensionamento, ainda que simples, mas que não são rotineiros no Ensino Superior. Assim, uma alternativa para melhor compreensão dos conteúdos dessa disciplina foi a realização de uma “Mostra de maquetes para ilustrar Processos Industriais” e teve como objetivo proporcionar uma aproximação dos conteúdos ministrados em classe, de modo mais dinâmico, facilitando o processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Nesse evento, os discentes, utilizando a criatividade, deveriam confeccionar maquetes para ilustrar um processo industrial escolhido pelo grupo. Esse trabalho possibilitou aos graduandos conhecer o desenvolvimento de processos industriais, além de permitir a familiarização e a identificação das diversas operações unitárias envolvidas em processos tecnológicos de caráter fabril.
