Nutritional aspects of herbal medicines and their effects on the prevention of COVID-19 in Brazil

Resumo: | The recent outbreak of COVID-19 in China was considered a serious public health problem by the World Health Organization (WHO), an examination that there is no vaccine or medicine capable of causing or treating diseases, but it is Chinese medicine with its herbal products, it is recommended to use some herbs to avoid COVID-19, including the oral administration of some of these herbal medicines. The occurrence of COVID-19 has spread worldwide, and cases have been reported in several countries, so the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a pandemic, among the affected countries are China, Italy, Spain, United States and Brazil. This is an integrative review on aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic, appearance, symptoms, and data on herbal medicines related to the prevention of this disease. This review was based on the publications in the PUBMED database with articles from the year 2020. Traditional Chinese medicine has brought hope for prevention and treatment in some research, as it already plays an important role in the treatment of other pathologies. In China, during the outbreak of COVID-19, hospitals specialized in traditional medicine using plants were established. medicinal, in search of a collective and effective treatment, which treated more than 60,000 patients. |

Es una revisión integradora de aspectos de la pandemia de COVID-19, apariencia, síntomas y datos sobre medicamentos herbales relacionados con la prevención de esta enfermedad. Esta revisión se basó en las publicaciones contenidas en la base de datos PUBMED con artículos del año 2020. La medicina tradicional china ha traído esperanza para la prevención y el tratamiento en algunas investigaciones, ya que ya juega un papel importante en el tratamiento de otras patologías. En China, durante el brote de COVID-19, se establecieron hospitales especializados en medicina tradicional que usan plantas medicinales en busca de un tratamiento colectivo y efectivo, que trató a más de 60,000 pacientes.O recente surto de COVID-19 na China foi considerado um grave problema de saúde pública pela Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS), a qual declarou que não há nenhum tipo de vacina ou medicamento capaz de prevenção ou tratamento dessa doença, porém a medicina chinesa com seus produtos herbais fitoterápicos recomendavam o uso de algumas ervas para a prevenção da COVID-19, incluindo a administração oral de alguns desses fitoterápicos. A ocorrência de COVID-19 se alastrou a nível mundial sendo relatados casos em diversos países, sendo assim a Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) declarou pandemia, dentre os países afetados estão China, Itália, Espanha, Estados Unidos e o Brasil. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa sobre aspectos da pandemia do COVID-19, surgimento, sintomas e dados sobre fitoterápicos relacionados à prevenção dessa doença. Essa revisão foi baseada nas publicações constantes na base de dados PUBMED com artigos do ano de 2020.
