From print to digital: a study on conceptions and transformations in the reading habit

Resumo: | This study presents the conceptions and transformations in the habit of reading, considering the changes in paradigms, and their variations that have occurred in the way of reading over the years, having as its beginnings the scrolls until arriving at the incipient e-books. With the advent of technological advances and the taking of the digital age, reading and writing has become a totally innovative agent, as new mechanisms for reading and writing are available, as evidence, there is digital literacy, mastery of technique and ability through digital devices that are effective in the multiplicity and development of reading. In light of this, the study also addresses discussions that present issues pertinent to the fate of the printed book in the face of the growth of the digital book. As a literary review, it is anchored in Chartier (1999), Fisher (2009) who warn about the purposes of reading that, above all, consist in communicating, (Xavier, 2002; Coscarelli; Ribeiro, 2007), who developed research on reading and writing in a virtual environment, assuming that hypertext, digital texts, and new forms of reading and writing have largely occupied the life of contemporary society. Finally, the relevant foundations of Eco, Carrière (2010), which discuss the permanence of the printed book and its effects on the contemporary reading society, were also considered. |

Con el advenimiento de los avances tecnológicos y la toma de la era digital, la lectura y la escritura se han convertido en un agente totalmente innovador, ya que los nuevos mecanismos de lectura y escritura están disponibles, como evidencia, hay alfabetización digital, dominio de la técnica y capacidad a través de dispositivos digitales que son efectivos en la multiplicidad y el desarrollo de la lectura. En vista de esto, el estudio también aborda las discusiones que presentan problemas relacionados con el destino del libro impreso frente al crecimiento del libro digital. Como revisión literaria, está anclado en Chartier (1999), Fisher (2009), que advierte sobre los propósitos de la lectura que, sobre todo, consisten en comunicar (Xavier, 2002; Coscarelli; Ribeiro, 2007), quien desarrolló una investigación sobre leer y escribir en un entorno virtual, suponiendo que el hipertexto, los textos digitales y las nuevas formas de lectura y escritura hayan ocupado en gran medida la vida de la sociedad contemporánea. Finalmente, también se consideraron los fundamentos relevantes de Eco, Carrière (2010), que discuten la permanencia del libro impreso y sus efectos en la sociedad de lectura contemporánea.Este estudo apresenta as concepções e transformações no hábito da leitura, considerando as mudanças de paradgmas, e suas variantes ocorridas no modo de ler ao longo dos anos, tendo como primórdios os rolos até chegar nos incipientes e-books. Com o advento dos avanços tecnológicos e a tomada da era digital, ler e escrever tornou-se um agente totalmente inovador, pois novos mecanismos de leitura e escrita encontram-se disponíveis, como evidência, tem-se o letramento digital, domínio de técnica e habilidade por meio de dispositivos digitais que se fazem eficazes na multiplicidade e no desenvolvimento da leitura. Diante disso, o estudo também aborda discussões que apresentam questões pertinentes ao destino do livro impresso diante do crescimento do livro digital. Como revisão literária, ancora-se em Chartier (1999), Fisher (2009) que advertem sobre as finalidades da leitura que, sobretudo, consistem em comunicar-se, (Xavier, 2002; Coscarelli; Ribeiro, 2007), que desenvolveram pesquisas sobre leitura e escrita em ambiente virtual, assumindo que o hipertexto, os textos digitais, e as novas formas de leitura e escrita ocuparam em larga escala a vida da sociedade contemporânea.
