Resumo: Considering the increase in suicide cases reported daily, there was a motivation to investigate how nursing care is performed for patients with suicidal behavior who enter the emergency room. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), every year around 800 thousand people take their own lives worldwide. A number that represents almost one death every 40 seconds. The largest number of cases is led by India, with 258,000 suicides per year. The study aims to know the nursing care of people with suicidal behavior seen in the emergency room. It deals with a field research, of a descriptive character of qualitative approach. The research subjects were the nursing team of the emergency department of the General Hospital. The data collection was done through a questionnaire, composed of 4 open questions. Suicide is considered a public health problem, which increases considerably each day. Regardless of the factors that lead to suicidal behavior, be they due to mental disorders, depression or whatever the reason, suicidal behavior should be identified and treated.

Según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), anualmente alrededor de 800 mil personas se quitan la vida en todo el mundo. Un número que representa casi una muerte cada 40 segundos. El mayor número de casos lo lidera India, con 258.000 suicidios al año. El estudio tiene como objetivo comprender los cuidados de enfermería que se brindan a las personas con conducta suicida que son atendidas en la sala de emergencias. Es una investigación de campo descriptiva con enfoque cualitativo. Los sujetos de investigación fueron el personal de enfermería del servicio de urgencias del Hospital General. La recolección de datos se realizó a través de un cuestionario, compuesto por 4 preguntas abiertas. El suicidio se considera un problema de salud pública, que aumenta considerablemente cada día. Independientemente de los factores que conduzcan a la conducta suicida, ya sea por trastornos mentales, depresión o por cualquier motivo, la conducta suicida debe ser identificada y tratada.Considerando o aumento de casos de suicídios noticiados diariamente, houve uma motivação em pesquisar como é realizado o atendimento pela enfermagem aos pacientes com conduta suicida que dão entrada nas emergências. De acordo com a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), anualmente cerca de 800 mil pessoas tiram a própria vida em todo mundo. Um número que representa quase uma morte a cada 40 segundos. O maior número de casos é liderado pela Índia, com 258 mil suicídios por ano. O estudo tem como objetivo conhecer o cuidado da enfermagem às pessoas com conduta suicida atendidas na emergência. Trata de uma pesquisa de campo, de caráter descritivo de abordagem qualitativa. Os sujeitos de pesquisa foram a equipe de enfermagem do setor de emergência do Hospital Geral. A coleta de dados foi feita por meio de questionário, composto por 4 questões abertas. O suicídio é considerado um problema de saúde pública, que aumenta consideravelmente a cada dia.
