Anxiety of family members of children with heart disease in the preoperative phase: Reflections on the role of nurses

Resumo: The objective was to reflect on the strategies used by nurses to control the anxiety of family members in the preoperative period of pediatric cardiac surgeries. The design adopted was an integrative review, whose search period occurred between the months of August-October/2020 for articles indexed from 2010 on in databases. Sixteen articles were selected for this investigation, and the synthesis of knowledge is presented in two categories: 1) Multiprofessional and interdisciplinary assistance in addressing congenital heart diseases - portrayed assistance with a multidimensional and team approach to heart diseases and 2) Prevention actions and anxiety control of family members performed in the preoperative phase of congenital heart disease as a strategy in nursing care - addressed the nursing actions aimed at controlling anxiety. Communication and reception strategies with sensitive, humanized and qualified listening must be permeated by educational health actions in favor of promoting well-being and controlling anxiety based on the acceptance of the disease, the child's limitations, as well as the forms of treatment adopted. They are fundamental parts in the therapeutic relationship of the nurse/child/family triad and are configured as important structuring axes in the planning of nursing care.

El diseño adoptado fue una revisión integradora, cuyo período de búsqueda se produjo entre los meses de agosto-octubre/2020 para artículos indexados a partir de 2010 en bases de datos. Se seleccionaron dieciséis artículos para esta investigación, y la síntesis de conocimiento se presenta en dos categorías: 1) Asistencia multiprofesional e interdisciplinaria en el abordaje de las cardiopatías congénitas - asistencia retratada con un enfoque multidimensional y en equipo de las cardiopatías y 2) Acciones de prevención y control de la ansiedad. de familiares realizados en la fase preoperatoria de cardiopatías congénitas como estrategia en el cuidado de enfermería - abordaron las acciones de enfermería dirigidas al control de la ansiedad. Las estrategias de comunicación y recepción con escucha sensible, humanizada y calificada deben estar impregnadas de acciones educativas en salud a favor de promover el bienestar y controlar la ansiedad a partir de la aceptación de la enfermedad, las limitaciones del niño, así como las formas de tratamiento adoptadas. Son piezas fundamentales en la relación terapéutica de la tríada enfermera/niño/familia y se configuran como ejes estructurantes importantes en la planificación de los cuidados de enfermería.Objetivou-se refletir sobre as estratégias utilizadas pelo enfermeiro no controle da ansiedade dos familiares no período pré-operatório de cirurgias cardíacas pediátricas. O delineamento adotado foi uma revisão integrativa, cujo período de busca ocorreu entre os meses de agosto-outubro/2020 de artigos indexados a partir de 2010 em bases de dados. Foram selecionados para esta investigação e inclusos 16 artigos, sendo a síntese do conhecimento apresentada em duas categorias: 1) Assistência multiprofissional e interdisciplinar na abordagem das cardiopatias congênitas - retratou a assistência de abordagem multidimensional e em equipe às cardiopatias e 2) Ações de prevenção e controle da ansiedade dos familiares executadas na fase pré-operatória das cardiopatias congênitas como estratégia no cuidar em enfermagem – abordou  as ações de enfermagem voltadas ao controle da ansiedade. As estratégias comunicacionais e de acolhimento com a escuta sensível, humanizada e qualificada devem ser permeadas por ações educativas em saúde em prol da promoção do bem-estar e do controle da ansiedade a partir da aceitação da doença, das limitações da criança, bem como das formas de tratamento adotadas.
