Evaluation of the quality of Primary Health Care services from the perspective of nurses

Resumo: | Objective: to assess, from the nurses' perspective, the presence and extent of the attributes of primary health care. Methodology: an evaluative study with a quantitative approach, carried out through the application of the Primary Care Assessment Tool professional version, with 66 nurses. Descriptive analysis (mean and standard deviation) and analytical (Pearson coefficient with significance p < 0.05) were performed. Results: The Family Health units obtained the essential, derived and general score higher than the Primary Care units, indicating a high orientation for primary health care. The accessibility and availability of services was assessed with low orientation in both types of services. A negative and significant correlation was identified between nurses' working time in Primary Care units and the attribute Comprehensiveness – Provided Services. Conclusion: Nurses need to implement the structuring elements of primary health care in their daily work to qualify and consolidate the assistance provided. |

Metodología: estudio evaluativo con abordaje cuantitativo, realizado mediante la aplicación de la Primary Care Assessment Tool versión profesional, con 66 enfermeros. Se realizó análisis descriptivo (media y desviación típica) y analítico (coeficiente de Pearson con significancia p < 0.05). Resultados: Las unidades de Salud de la Familia obtuvieron la puntuación esencial, derivada y general superior a las unidades de Atención Primaria, lo que indica una alta orientación a la atención primaria de salud. La accesibilidad y disponibilidad de servicios se evaluó con baja orientación en ambos tipos de servicios. Se identificó una correlación negativa y significativa entre el tiempo de trabajo del enfermero en las unidades de Atención Primaria y el atributo Integralidad - Servicios prestados. Conclusión: El enfermero necesita implementar los elementos estructurantes de la atención primaria de salud en su quehacer diario para calificar y consolidar la asistencia brindada.Objetivo: avaliar, na perspectiva dos enfermeiros, a presença e a extensão dos atributos da atenção primária à saúde. Metodologia: estudo avaliativo com abordagem quantitativa, realizado através da aplicação do Primary Care Assessment Tool versão profissionais, com 66 enfermeiros. Realizou-se a análise descritiva (média e desvio padrão) e analítica (coeficiente de Pearson com significância p < 0,05). Resultados: As unidades de Saúde da Família obtiveram o escore essencial, derivado e geral maior do que as unidades de Atenção Básica, indicando alta orientação para a atenção primária à saúde. A acessibilidade e disponibilidade de serviços foi avaliada com baixa orientação em ambos tipos de serviços. Identificou-se correlação negativa e significativa entre o tempo de trabalho do enfermeiro nas unidades de Atenção Básica e o atributo Integralidade – Serviços Prestados.
