Organizing academic research: theoretical and practical reflections on the methodology of scientific work

Resumo: This article has the general goal of presenting a critique of the main techniques for preparation of academic papers, as well as indicating exercises for their better apprehension, resulting in a specific educational object. It is argued that students, in doing so, take ownership of this “practical knowledge” while acquiring the ability to organize their studies in a satisfactory manner, archiving their textual production, building a theoretical framework, developing at the intellectual level, and thus, constructing critical and autonomous thinking in relation to knowledge. Therefore, it is believed that students should be able to produce a critical memory of the contents of the subjects in undergraduate courses, which is crucial in the preparation of an Undergraduate Thesis (TCC) and in professional life as a whole, as such knowledge is required, as well as in the continuity of academic training in graduate school. Finally, it is concluded that the appropriation of such knowledge is at the core of scientific education, thereby enabling students to perform academic research and knowledge production while ensuring student autonomy.

Se argumenta que, al hacerlos, los discentes se apropian de estos «conocimientos prácticos», habilitándolos a organizar satisfactoriamente sus estudios, archivando su producción textual, construyendo un referencial teórico, desarrollando la intelectualidad y, de esta manera, constituyendo un pensamiento crítico y autónomo con relación al conocimiento. De este modo, se cree que los discentes desarrollarán una memoria crítica de los contenidos de las disciplinas en los cursos de la graduación, lo que resulta fundamental para la elaboración de un Trabajo de Conclusión de Curso (TCC), y en la vida profesional, como un todo en la medida en que necesiten de dichos conocimientos, así como también en la continuidad de la formación académica de posgrado. Finalmente, se concluye que la apropiación de estos conocimientos está en la esencia de la educación científica, habilitando así a los discentes a la investigación académica y a la producción de conocimientos, asegurando la autonomía estudiantil.Este artigo, tem por objetivo geral apresentar, de forma crítica, as principais técnicas de elaboração de trabalhos acadêmicos, indicando também exercícios para sua melhor apreensão. Argumenta-se que, ao fazê-los, os discentes apropriam-se destes “conhecimentos práticos”, habilitando-se a organizar satisfatoriamente os seus estudos, arquivando a sua produção textual, construindo um referencial teórico, desenvolvendo a intelectualidade e, assim, constituindo um pensamento crítico e autônomo em relação ao conhecimento. Deste modo, acredita-se que os discentes produzirão uma memória crítica dos conteúdos das disciplinas nos cursos da graduação, o que é fundamental na elaboração de um Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (TCC) e na vida profissional como um todo à medida em que necessitem desses conhecimentos, bem como na continuidade da formação acadêmica na pós-graduação.
