Resumo: | Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) is characterized as an ulcer with a yellowish background delimited by an erythematous halo that can affect the entire oral mucosa, varying in shape, size and number. The wound healing process lasts around 10 to 14 days, with painful symptoms and a decrease in the patient's quality of life. These lesions are commonly found in all age groups, drawing attention to their high prevalence in the hebiatric population, a phase in which care with usual hygiene is not always a priority, as is the quality of food, which sometimes promotes acidification of the body. oral medium. In order to avoid systemic medication, promote analgesia and reduce inflammation caused by different types of stomatitis, Low Power Laser irradiation (LLLT) has been studied. The objective of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of LLLT in tissue repair, analgesia and recurrence of lesions of the three types of RAS in hebiatric patients, divided into 2 groups: Group I (LLLT), contact application in two sessions with an interval of 24 hours and Group II (control), only follow-up. Both were evaluated at 4 different times. LLLT, in addition to reducing pain, had an effect on the tissue repair process on protein synthesis, accelerating the healing process. Therefore, it can be concluded that LLLT is effective on RAS, and can be recommended as an adequate and reliable treatment, reducing the discomfort of patients affected by this type of ulcer. |

Com o objetivo de evitar medicação sistêmica, promover analgesia e diminuir a inflamação ocasionada pelos diferentes tipos de estomatites, a irradiação com Laser em Baixa Potência (LBI) tem sido estudada. O objetivo desse estudo foi analisar a efetividade do LBI na reparação tecidual, analgesia e recorrência de lesões dos três tipos de EAR em pacientes hebiatras, divididos em 2 grupos: Grupo I (LBI), aplicação de contato em duas sessões com intervalo de 24 horas e Grupo II (controle), apenas acompanhamento. Ambos foram avaliados em 4 momentos distintos. O LBI, além de reduzir a dor, teve ação no processo de reparação tecidual sobre a síntese protéica, acelerando o processo cicatricial.
