Resumo: Objective: To trace the sociodemographic and professional profile of the subjects/nurses of the Primary Health Care network in the city of Recife - Pernambuco, considering the importance of this professional in health care in Primary Care. Methodology: Descriptive quantitative research. This is an excerpt from the field research of the master's dissertation on the knowledge of primary care nurses about sexuality in climacteric. After approval by the Ethics Committee and Research with Human Beings of the University of Pernambuco, received on December 1, 2014, CAAE: 39337714.1.0000.5207, the letter of consent was issued by the City Hall of Recife so that the research could be started. Results: Of the 250 nurses interviewed, 90.3% are female, 45.3% of nurses were between 30 and 39 years old, 60% of these are married, 87% have one or two children and most are Catholics. As for the time of training in nursing, most have graduated for more than 10 years, and 72.5% graduated from a public university and only 3.7% do not have a graduate degree. The time of professional experience in the family health strategy of most nurses is more than 10 years (66.8%). Conclusion: It is essential to identify the profile of these professionals, in order to outline improvements in the performance of the activities carried out, to adopt measures that improve the care of the assisted population.

Metodología: Investigación cuantitativa descriptiva. Este es un extracto de la investigación de campo de la disertación de maestría sobre el conocimiento de las enfermeras de atención primaria sobre la sexualidad en el climaterio. Después de la aprobación por el Comité de Ética e Investigación con Seres Humanos de la Universidad de Pernambuco, recibido el 01 de diciembre de 2014, CAAE: 39337714.1.0000.5207, la carta de consentimiento fue emitida por el Ayuntamiento de Recife para que la investigación pudiera ser iniciada. Resultados: De las 250 enfermeras entrevistadas, el 90,3% son del sexo femenino, el 45,3% de las enfermeras tenían entre 30 y 39 años, el 60% de estas son casadas, el 87% tienen uno o dos hijos y la mayoría son católicas. En cuanto al tiempo de formación en enfermería, la mayoría se ha graduado hace más de 10 años, siendo el 72,5% egresado de alguna universidad pública y solo el 3,7% no cuenta con posgrado. El tiempo de experiencia profesional en la estrategia de salud de la familia de la mayoría de los enfermeros es superior a 10 años (66,8%). Conclusión: Es fundamental identificar el perfil de estos profesionales, con el fin de perfilar mejoras en el desempeño de las actividades realizadas, para adoptar medidas que mejoren la atención de la población asistida.Objetivo: Traçar o perfil sociodemográfico e profissional dos sujeitos/enfermeiros (as) da rede de Atenção Primária à Saúde do município de Recife - Pernambuco, considerando a importância desse profissional na assistência à saúde na Atenção Primária. Metodologia: Pesquisa quantitativa descritiva. Trata-se de um recorte da pesquisa de campo da dissertação de mestrado sobre o conhecimento do enfermeiro da atenção primária quanto à sexualidade no climatério. Após aprovação do Comitê de Ética e Pesquisa com Seres Humanos da Universidade de Pernambuco, recebido em 01 de Dezembro de 2014, CAAE: 39337714.1.0000.5207, foi emitida a carta de anuência pela Prefeitura da Cidade do Recife para que a pesquisa pudesse ser iniciada. Resultados: Dos 250 enfermeiros (as) entrevistados, 90,3% são do sexo feminino, 45,3% dos enfermeiros (as) tinham idade entre 30 e 39 anos, 60% desses são casados, 87% tem um ou dois filhos e a maioria são católicos. Quanto ao tempo de formação em enfermagem, a maioria possui mais de 10 anos de formandos, e 72,5% graduou-se em universidade pública e apenas 3,7% não possuem pós-graduação. O tempo de atuação profissional em estratégia da saúde da família da maioria dos enfermeiros (as) é de mais de 10 anos (66,8%).
