Resumo: | Introduction: ProtaperUltimate File was an innovative advantage for the professional, because it allows to treat a wide variety of anatomical challenges in clinical practice, this system also allows the clinician to perform minimally invasive canal preparations, more as other files are not all 100% good, because there comes a time when the operator is using the file and it will fracture. Objective: To know the benefits of the evolution of endodontic files and their use in the treatment of root canals. Methodology: This is a literature review with a descriptive approach. Results: Stainless steel manual file features high resistance and hardness, allowing excellent control and precision on its cutting surfaces. File Nickel-Titanium (Ni-Ti) has greater elasticity, flexibility and resistance to fracture during torsional rotation. Between 2001 and 2006 the files Protaper, Protaper NEXT and Protaper Universal since both would improve resistance and flexibility throughout the work carried out with them. M-wire and R-phase files have higher fatigue strength and excellent flexibility. Results and Discussion: Reciproc files have greater resistance to flexural fatigue and WaveOne has greater torsional resistance. Lima WaveOne Gold is also the brand DentsplyMaillefer, it was introduced in the market as a new Reciprocating system that has greater resistance and flexibility. Conclusions: In this work, we searched the literature for an overview of the evolution of endodontic instruments over old to current files, elucidating the relevant points of the clinical practice of endodontics, facilitating the treatment of root canals by dentistry professionals. |

Objetivo: Conocer los beneficios de la evolución de las limas endodónticas y su uso en el tratamiento de conductos radiculares. Metodología: Se trata de una revisión de la literatura con un enfoque descriptivo. Resultados: La lima manual de acero inoxidable presenta alta resistencia y dureza, lo que permite un excelente control y precisión en sus superficies de corte. La lima de Níquel-Titanio (Ni-Ti) tiene mayor elasticidad, flexibilidad y resistencia a la fractura durante la rotación torsional. Entre 2001 y 2006 las limas Protaper, Protaper NEXT y Protaper Universal ya que ambas mejorarían la resistencia y flexibilidad a lo largo del trabajo realizado con ellas. Las limas M-wire y R-phase tienen una mayor resistencia a la fatiga y una excelente flexibilidad. Resultados y Discusión: Las limas Reciproc tienen mayor resistencia a la fatiga por flexión y WaveOne tiene mayor resistencia a la torsión. Lima WaveOne Gold también es de la marca DentsplyMaillefer, se introdujo en el mercado como un nuevo sistema Reciprocante que posee mayor resistencia y flexibilidad. Conclusiones: En este trabajo, buscamos en la literatura una visión general de la evolución de los instrumentos de endodoncia en los archivos antiguos a los actuales, aclarando los puntos relevantes de la práctica clínica de la endodoncia, facilitando el tratamiento de los conductos radiculares por parte de los profesionales de la odontología.Introdução: Lima ProtaperUltimate foi uma vantagem inovadora para o profissional, porque permite tratar uma ampla variedade de desafios anatômicos na prática clínica, esse sistema também permite que o clínico realize preparos de canais minimamente invasivos, mais conforme as outras limas nem todas são 100% boas, pois chega um momento que o operador está usando a lima e que a mesmas irá ter fraturas. Objetivo: Conhecer os benefícios da evolução das limas endodônticas e a utilização no tratamento de canais radiculares. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura com abordagem descritiva. Resultados: Lima manual de aço inoxidável apresenta alta resistência e dureza, permitindo excelente controle e precisão em suas superfícies cortantes. Lima Niquel- Titânio (Ni-Ti) possui maior elasticidade, flexibilidade e resistência à fratura durante a rotação torsional. Entre 2001 e 2006 as limas Protaper, Protaper NEXT e Protaper Universal uma vez que ambas melhorariam a resistência e flexibilidade ao longo do trabalho realizado com elas. Limas M-wire e R-phase apresentam maior resistência à fadiga e uma excelente flexibilidade. Resultados e discussões: Limas de Reciproc tem uma resistência à fadiga flexural maior e a WaveOne tem uma maior resistência torsional. Lima WaveOne Gold é também a marca DentsplyMaillefer, foi introduzida no mercado como um novo sistema Reciprocante que possui maior resistência e flexibilidade.
