Epidemiological aspects of syphilis in Itabaiana, Sergipe: an ecological study

Resumo: Objectives: To describe the epidemiological profile of the reported cases and the type of syphilis with the highest incidence in the time frame from 2010 to 2020, in the Municipality of Itabaiana, State of Sergipe, Brazil. Methodology: This is a Descriptive and Observational Ecological Study. Syphilis was addressed in the municipality of Itabaiana-SE in the period from 2010 to 2020. In which the DATASUS was used as sources of information, which evaluates secondary data, not being necessary to submit the work to the Ethics Committee. Analyzing the following variables: Age group, sex, education, social class. Results and discussion: In the present study, it was observed that syphilis in the municipality of Itabaiana in the time frame from 2010 to 2020, 803 cases of syphilis, with the applicability of the variants: gestational age was diagnosed: 145 positive results, in which in the first trimester the result of 51 cases of gestational syphilis was obtained, with 62 reported cases in the second trimester and 31 positive cases of the addressed pathology in the third trimester. Where there was a higher prevalence of cases in the second gestational trimester. Acquired syphilis 490 cases, with a higher prevalence in females with 301. Conclusion: It can be seen through this study the greater prevalence of acquired and gestational syphilis affecting mainly women with low education. The realization of this research contributed to the expansion and development of more severe decision-making in relation to the form of prevention of syphilis, both by the government in the distribution of preventive methods and acceptance of information by the population.

Metodología: Se trata de un Estudio Ecológico Descriptivo y Observacional. La sífilis fue abordada en el municipio de Itabaiana/SE en el período de 2010 a 2020. En los que se utilizó como fuente de información DATASUS, que evalúa datos secundarios, no siendo necesario someter el trabajo al Comité de Ética. Analizando las siguientes variables: Grupo de edad, sexo, educación, clase social. Resultados y discusión: En el presente estudio se observó sífilis en el municipio de Itabaiana en el período de 2010 a 2020, se diagnosticaron 803 casos de sífilis, con la aplicabilidad de las variantes: edad gestacional: 145 resultados positivos, en el cual en el primer trimestre se obtuvo el resultado de 51 casos de sífilis gestacional, con 62 casos notificados en el segundo trimestre y 31 casos positivos de la patología abordada en el tercer trimestre. Donde hubo mayor prevalencia de casos en el segundo trimestre gestacional. Sífilis adquirida 490 casos, con mayor prevalencia en el sexo femenino con 301. Conclusión: Se puede observar a través de este estudio la mayor prevalencia de sífilis adquirida y gestacional afectando principalmente a mujeres con baja escolaridad. La realización de esta investigación contribuyó para la ampliación y desarrollo de una toma de decisiones más severa en relación a la forma de prevención de la sífilis, tanto por parte del gobierno en la distribución de métodos preventivos como en la aceptación de la información por parte de la población.Objetivos: Descrever o perfil epidemiológico dos casos notificados e qual o tipo de sífilis com maior incidência no recorte temporal de 2010 a 2020, no Município de Itabaiana, Estado de Sergipe, Brasil. Analisando as seguintes variáveis: Faixa etária, sexos, escolaridade, classe social. Resultados e discussão: No presente estudo observou-se que a sífilis no munícipio de Itabaiana no recorte temporal de 2010 a 2020, 803 casos de sífilis, com a aplicabilidade das variantes: idade gestacional foi diagnosticadas: 145 resultados positivos, na qual no primeiro trimestre obteve-se o resultado de 51 casos de sífilis gestacional, sendo no segundo trimestre 62 casos notificados e no terceiro trimestre 31 casos positivados da patologia abordada. Onde teve maior prevalência de casos no segundo trimestre gestacional. Sífilis adquirida 490 casos, tendo maior prevalência o sexo feminino com, 301. Conclusão: Pode-se perceber através desse estudo a maior predominância de sífilis adquirida e gestacional acometendo principalmente mulheres de baixa escolaridade.
