Causes of turnover in the civil construction sector

Resumo: | Staff turnover is a challenge for organizations. If not observed, it can have consequences, such as the costs of dismissing and replacing employees and reduced productivity. This research aims to identify the causes of turnover in the civil construction sector. Therefore, exploratory qualitative research was carried out in a municipality in the North of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, based on fifteen interviews conducted from a semi-structured script, which were analyzed using the content analysis technique. The categories explored were individual causes, organizational causes and causes external to organization. The results indicate the main causes of turnover in the civil construction sector: city moving, higher salary offer, inadequate behavior, lack of productivity, lack of commitment and professional attitude, unfinished activities, lack of buildings to start, increase in job vacancy, repetitive and stressful activities, pressure in the work environment. |

Si no se observa, puede tener consecuencias, como los costos de despido y reemplazo de empleados y la reducción de la productividad. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo identificar las causas de la rotación en el sector de la construcción civil. Por lo tanto, se realizó una investigación cualitativa exploratoria en un municipio del norte del estado de Rio Grande do Sul, basado en quince entrevistas realizadas a partir de un guión semiestructurado, que fueron analizadas mediante la técnica de análisis de contenido. Las categorías analizadas fueron: causas individuales, causas organizacionales y causas externas a la organización. Los resultados indican las principales causas de rotación en el sector de la construcción civil: cambio de ciudad, oferta de un salario más alto, comportamiento inadecuado, falta de productividad, falta de compromiso y actitud profesional, paro de obras en curso, ausencia de construcciones para empezar, aumento de puestos vacantes, actividades repetitivas y estresantes, presión en el entorno laboral.A rotatividade de pessoal é um desafio para as organizações. Se não observada, pode gerar consequências, como custos de desligamento e reposição de empregados e redução da produtividade. Esta pesquisa objetiva identificar as causas de rotatividade no setor da construção civil. Para tanto, realizou-se uma pesquisa exploratória de caráter qualitativo, em um munícipio do Norte do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, com base em quinze entrevistas conduzidas a partir de roteiro semiestruturado, as quais foram analisadas por meio da técnica de análise de conteúdo. Foram analisadas as categorias: causas individuais, causas organizacionais e causas externas à organização.
