Resumo: Objective: To review the literature on fetal malformations caused by the use of methotrexate during pregnancy. Methodology: This is a narrative review of literature, including all articles that addressed the topic, in the last ten years. Results and Discussion: For the pregnant woman's prenatal care to be smooth and without major complications, some care must be followed to the letter and, among them, the use of medications, which can either cause complications or be incompatible with the life of the mother. mother and baby, the use even before the start of pregnancy can compromise the pregnancy. Thus, it is necessary to quickly observe and conduct the multidisciplinary professionals who accompany the pregnant woman. Resultados e Discussões: Para que o Pré-natal da gestante possa ser tranquilo e sem grandes intercorrências, alguns cuidados devem ser seguidos à risca e, dentre eles, o uso de medicamentos, que podem ou causar complicações ou serem incompatíveis com a vida de da mãe e do bebê, a utilização mesmo antes de iniciar a gestação pode comprometer a gravidez. Com isso, é necessária a rápida observação e condutas dos profissionais multidisciplinares que acompanham a gestante. O metotrexato (MTX) é um tratamento seguro e eficaz na gravidez ectópica sem possibilidades de riscos da cirurgia. O médico age atacando de modo direto a causa da patologia e não o embrião, mas causando a sua morte.
