Bromatological and fermentative parameters of elephant grass silage mixed with cupuaçu by-product

Resumo: The use of silage from tropical forages is another alternative to minimize the shortage of forage in the dry season, among the forages that can be adopted, elephant grass deserves mention. In this context, the objective of the work was to evaluate the bromatological aspects and fermentative quality of elephant grass silage added with cupuaçu seed cake. The experiment design was a completely randomized with five treatments and four replications, named: SCE = 100% pure elephant grass silage; STC20 = silage 80% elephant grass + 20% cupuaçu cake; STC40 = silage 60% elephant grass + 40% cupuaçu seed cake; STC60 = silage 40% elephant grass + 60% cupuaçu seed cake and STC80 = silage 20% elephant grass + 80% cupuaçu seed cake. PVC silos with 50 cm in length, 10 cm in diameter and 3.5 kg capacity were used. After 60 days of fermentation, the silos were opened, weighed again, homogenized and samples were taken to determine the contents of: MS, PB, FDN , FDA, MM, EE, CEL, HEM, LIG, MM, PMS, PE, PG and silage pH. In terms of chemical composition, the STC80 silage was the one that presented the best results, in addition to decreasing DM losses, effluent and gas losses. Therefore, it is recommended to include 80% of the cupuaçu seed cake in the silage with elephant grass, as it improves the fermentative profile and the chemical composition of the silage. En este contexto, el objetivo del trabajo fue evaluar los aspectos bromatológicos y la calidad fermentativa del ensilado de pasto elefante agregado con torta de semillas de cupuaçu. El experimento se llevó a cabo en un diseño completamente inusual con cinco tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones, denominados: SCE = ensilado de pasto elefante 100% puro; STC20 = ensilaje 80% pasto elefante + 20% torta de cupuaçu; STC40 = ensilado 60% pasto elefante + 40% torta de semillas de cupuaçu; STC60 = ensilaje 40% pasto elefante + 60% torta de semillas de cupuaçu y STC80 = ensilaje 20% pasto elefante + 80% torta de semillas de cupuaçu. Se utilizaron silos de PVC de 50 cm de largo, 10 cm de diámetro y 3,5 kg de capacidad. Luego de 60 días de fermentación, se abrieron los silos, se volvieron a pesar, se homogeneizaron y se tomaron muestras para determinar el contenido de: MS, PB, FDN , FDA, MM, EE, CEL, HEM, LIG, MM, PMS, PE, PG y pH de ensilaje. En cuanto a composición química, el ensilado STC80 mostró los mejores resultados, además de disminuir las pérdidas de MS, efluentes y pérdidas de gases. Por lo tanto, se recomienda incluir el 80% de la torta de semillas de cupuaçu en el ensilado de pasto elefante, ya que mejora el perfil fermentativo y la composición bromatológica del ensilado. Nesse contexto, o objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar os aspectos bromatológicos e qualidade fermentativa de silagem de capim elefante aditivada com torta de semente de cupuaçu. O experimento foi realizado em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com cinco tratamentos e quatro repetições, denominados de: SCE= 100% silagem de capim elefante puro; STC20 = silagem 80% capim elefante + 20% de torta de cupuaçu; STC40 = silagem 60% capim elefante + 40% de torta de semente de cupuaçu; STC60 = silagem 40%capim elefante + 60% de torta de semente de cupuaçu e STC80 = silagem 20%  capim elefante + 80% de torta de semente de cupuaçu. Foram utilizados silos de PVC com 50 cm de comprimento, 10 cm de diâmetro e capacidade de 3,5kg, após 60 dias de fermentação os silos foram abertos, pesados novamente, homogeneizadas e retiradas amostras para determinar os teores de: MS, PB, FDN, FDA, MM, EE, CEL, HEM, LIG, MM, NDT, PMS, PE, PG e pH da silagem. Em termos de composição bromatológicas a silagem STC80 foi a que apresentou os melhores resultados, além de diminuir as perdas de MS, as perdas por efluentes e por gases. Portanto, recomenda-se a inclusão de 80% da torta de semente de cupuaçu na silagem com capim elefante, por melhorar o perfil fermentativo e a composição bromatológica da silagem.
