Learning trails and the development of management skills: a case study at the Catarinense Federal Institute – IFC

Resumo: This study aimed to structure a skills development program, based on the learning trail system, for intermediate level managers of the Institutional Development Dean's Office (PRODIN) of the Catarinense Federal Institute - IFC. This research was applied, predominantly qualitative, being classified as descriptive. It presented characteristics of a bibliographic, documentary research, field research and case study. For data collection, in addition to documentary and bibliographic analysis, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires were used. Data analysis took place through content analysis. As a result, the skills required of PRODIN / IFC intermediate managers were identified and classified and divided into four categories: intellectual, interpersonal; technical and intrapersonal. After checking the degree to which each competency is required, it was realized that all categories analyzed by the interviewees are strongly required. In this way, it is possible to affirm that the inferred managerial competences were validated by the IFC managers, as well as, they were included in the structuring of the development program by competence. In order to structure the proposed program, the reality of the researched institution was considered, with a view to effectively contributing to the development of PRODIN - IFC managers.

Esta investigación se aplicó predominantemente cualitativa, y se clasificó como descriptiva. Presentaba características de una investigación bibliográfica, documental, investigación de campo y estudio de caso. Para la recopilación de datos, además del análisis documental y bibliográfico, se utilizaron entrevistas semi-estructuradas y cuestionarios. El análisis de datos se realizó a través del análisis de contenido. Como resultado, las competencias requeridas de los gerentes intermedios de PRODIN / IFC fueron identificadas y clasificadas y divididas en cuatro categorías: intelectual, interpersonal; técnica e intrapersonal. Después de verificar el grado en que se requiere cada competencia, se dio cuenta de que todas las categorías analizadas por los entrevistados son muy necesarias. De esta manera, es posible afirmar que las competencias de gestión inferidas fueron validadas por los gerentes de la CFI, así como, se incluyeron en la estructuración del programa de desarrollo por competencia. Para estructurar el programa propuesto, se consideró la realidad de la institución investigada, con el fin de contribuir de manera efectiva al desarrollo de los administradores de PRODIN - IFC.Este estudo teve por objetivo estruturar um programa de desenvolvimento por competências, baseado no sistema de trilhas de aprendizagem, para gestores de nível intermediário da Pró-Reitoria de Desenvolvimento Institucional (PRODIN) do Instituto Federal Catarinense – IFC. A presente pesquisa foi aplicada, de caráter predominantemente qualitativo, sendo classificada como descritiva. Apresentou características de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, documental, pesquisa de campo e estudo de caso. Para a coleta de dados, além da análise documental e bibliográfica, fez-se uso de  entrevistas semiestruturadas e questionários. A análise dos dados ocorreu por meio da análise de conteúdo. Como resultado, as competências requeridas aos gestores intermediários da PRODIN/IFC foram identificadas e classificadas e divididas em quatro categorias: intelectual, interpessoal; técnica e intrapessoal. Após a verificação do grau em que cada competência é requerida percebeu-se que todas as categorias analisadas pelos entrevistados são fortemente requeridas. Desta forma, é possível afirmar que as competências gerenciais inferidas foram validadas pelos gestores do IFC,  bem como, foram incluídas na estruturação do programa de desenvolvimento por competência.
