Building knowledge on hand asepsis and its implications for health education

Resumo: The objective of this article is analyse, inspired on the work of Ludwik Fleck, the construction of knowledge on hand asepsis and its implications for health education. It’s based on a bibliographical review of works published in books, electronic articles, scientific journals, theses, dissertations and manuals that address knowledge related to hand asepsis and Fleck's thinking. This author’s epistemological approach has importance in the History of Science and in the construction of knowledge based on medicine, since he defends the necessity of the historical-philosophical view of science in the development of a scientific fact. By his contributions, Fleck can be considered a thinker ahead of his time and a forerunner of the historical, cultural and social approach in the construction of science. The gradual acceptance of hand asepsis as a preventive measure against contamination by diseases exemplifies the collective process of building scientific knowledge and reinforces the model proposed by Fleck, since it describes a situation that confirms his conceptions about the stages of production of scientific knowledge.

Se há realizado una revisión bibliográfica de trabajos publicados en libros, artículos electrónicos, revistas científicas, tesis, disertaciones y manuales que abordan los conocimientos relacionados con la asepsia de las manos y el pensamiento de Fleck. El enfoque epistemológico de este autor es importante en la Historia de la Ciencia y en la construcción del conocimiento basado en la medicina, ya que defiende la necesidad de la visión histórico-filosófica de la ciencia en el desarrollo de un hecho científico. Por sus contribuciones, Fleck puede ser considerado un pensador adelantado a su tiempo y un precursor del enfoque histórico, cultural y social en la construcción de la ciencia. Se puede observar que la aceptación gradual de la asepsia de las manos como medida preventiva contra la contaminación por enfermedades ejemplifica el proceso colectivo de construcción del conocimiento científico y refuerza el modelo propuesto por Fleck, ya que describe una situación que confirma sus concepciones sobre las etapas de producción del conocimiento científico.O objetivo deste artigo é analisar, a partir da obra de Ludwik Fleck, a construção do conhecimento sobre assepsia das mãos e suas implicações para a educação em saúde. Para isso, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica de trabalhos publicados em livros, artigos eletrônicos, revistas científicas, teses, dissertações e manuais que abordam conhecimentos relativos à assepsia das mãos e ao pensamento de Fleck. A abordagem epistemológica desse autor, tem importância na História da Ciência e na construção de conhecimentos baseados na medicina, tendo em vista que ele defende a necessidade da visão histórico-filosófica da ciência no desenvolvimento de um fato científico. Pelas suas contribuições, Fleck pode ser considerado um pensador à frente de seu tempo e precursor da abordagem histórico, cultural e social na construção da ciência.
