Resumo: The objective of the research is to identify the municipal socioeconomic factors that determine access to higher education. The binary logit model was used econometric. The dependent variable accommodated two categorical dummy 1 responses if access to higher education and dummy 0 otherwise. The independent variables considered were: illiteracy, unemployment, education, GDP per capita, household income, health and IFDM. Data analysis was performed using the Eviews statistical package at a significance level of 5%. As a result, it was found that of the variables under study, only the illiteracy variable was not statistically significant. The variables, unemployment, household income and IFDM were positive and statistically significant, which means they had a direct relationship. The variables PIB per capita, education and health had a negative sign (the unexpected priore) and statistically significant, presented an inverse relation with the dependent variable. To a certain extent, all variables in practice may have a strong influence on whether or not people have access to higher education, although some have had a negative relationship.

Research, Society and Development2020-08-11info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/708410.33448/rsd-v9i9.7084Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 9; e67997084Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 9; e67997084Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 9; e679970842525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/7084/6187Copyright (c) 2020 Cesar Benites Mario Zidora; Luciana Virginia Mario Bernardo; Maycon Jorge Ulisses Saraiva Farinha; Adelsom Soares Filho; Juliano dos Santos Cardoso; Vanderson Aparecido de Souza; Mauro Sérgio Almeida de Limahttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessZidora, Cesar Benites Mario Bernardo, Luciana Virginia MarioFarinha, Maycon Jorge Ulisses Saraiva Soares Filho, Adelsom Cardoso, Juliano dos Santos Souza, Vanderson Aparecido deLima, Mauro Sérgio Almeida de2020-09-18T01:42:11Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/7084Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:29:55.855134Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
