Correlations between leisure habits and lifestyle of Physical Education university students

Resumo: | It is common for young people adopt negative health behaviors because of changes in lifestyle and leisure habits. Physical Education students appear to adopt health risk behaviors even acquiring knowledge about healthy habits during graduation. Thus, the objective of the study was to relate leisure habits with the lifestyle behaviors of university students. The sample consisted of students from bachelor's and undergraduate degrees in Physical Education at the Londrina’s State University. The instruments for data collection were: Sociodemographic Questionnaire, Leisure Habits Scale and Fantastic Lifestyle Questionnaire. The analysis of sociodemographic characteristics characterized the sample. To verify the relationship between leisure habits and the students' lifestyle, Spearman's correlation coefficient was used. In all analyzes, the 95% significance level was adopted (p <0.05). The correlation indexes between leisure habits and lifestyle showed that the choice of leisure habits significantly interferes with the dimensions of lifestyle and it was possible to observe that there are distinctions between the behaviors of bachelor’s students compared to undergraduate students. |

Los estudiantes de Educación Física parecen adoptar comportamientos de riesgo para la salud incluso adquiriendo conocimiento sobre hábitos saludables durante la graduación. Por lo tanto, el objetivo del estudio fue relacionar los hábitos de ocio con los comportamientos de estilo de vida de los estudiantes universitarios. La muestra consistió en estudiantes de grado de bachiller y licenciatura en Educación Física de la Universidad Estatal de Londrina. Los instrumentos para la recolección de datos fueron: Cuestionario Sociodemográfico, Escala de Hábitos de Ocio y Cuestionario de Estilo de Vida Fantástico. El análisis de las características sociodemográficas caracterizó la muestra. Para comprobar la relación entre los hábitos de ocio y el estilo de vida de los estudiantes se utilizó el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman. En todos los análisis, se adoptó el nivel de significación del 95% (p <0,05). Los índices de correlación entre los hábitos de ocio y el estilo de vida mostraron que la elección de los hábitos de ocio interfiere significativamente con las dimensiones del estilo de vida y fue posible observar que existen diferencias entre los comportamientos de los estudiantes de grado de bachiller en comparación con los de los estudiantes de pregrado.É comum que jovens passem adotar comportamentos negativos a saúde por causa das mudanças do estilo de vida e dos hábitos de lazer. Estudantes de Educação Física aparentam adotar comportamentos de risco à saúde mesmo adquirindo conhecimentos sobre hábitos saudáveis durante a graduação. Assim, o objetivo do estudo foi de relacionar os hábitos de lazer com os comportamentos do estilo de vida de universitários. A amostra foi constituída por alunos dos cursos de bacharelado e licenciatura em Educação Física da Universidade Estadual de Londrina. Os instrumentos de coleta de dados foram: Questionário Sociodemográfico, a Escala de Hábitos de Lazer e Questionário Estilo de Vida Fantástico. A análise das características sociodemográficas caracterizou a amostra. Para a verificação das relações entre hábitos de lazer e o estilo de vida dos estudantes, empregou-se o coeficiente de Correlação de Spearman. Em todas as análises foi adotado o nível de significância de 95% (p<0,05).
