Resumo: | This work has as objective to investigate the physical and mechanical properties of the soil-cement brick with the use of tire rubber residues. It is an alternative to solve a serious environmental problem that exists nationwide, as more than 30 million tires are discarded, as the vast majority are disposed of in inappropriate places, helping to spread diseases and pollute the environment. The methodology used consisted of laboratory tests of the limit of liquidity, plasticity of the soil and after molding, the bricks were submitted to the compressive and absorption resistance test. The soil presented high hygroscopic moisture above the value established by the standard and all percentages with tire residue did not obtain compressive strength above 2 Mpa and the individual absorption values obtained were higher than those indicated by the standard for soil-cement brick. It is concluded that the bricks were not approved in terms of simple compression tests, water absorption, liquidity limits, plasticity limit, as they do not meet the requirements established in NBR 8491/2012 and NBR 10833/2012. |

Es una alternativa para solucionar un grave problema ambiental que existe a nivel nacional, ya que se desechan más de 30 millones de llantas, ya que la gran mayoría se desechan en lugares inapropiados, contribuyendo a propagar enfermedades y contaminar el medio ambiente. La metodología utilizada consistió en pruebas de laboratório del limite de liquidez, plasticidad del suelo y luego del moldeado, los ladrillos fueron sometidos a la prueba de resistencia a la compresión y absorción. El suelo presentó alta humedad higroscópica por encima del valor establecido por la norma y todos los porcentajes con residuo de llantas no obtuvieron resistencia a la compresión por encima de 2 Mpa y los valores de absorción individual obtenidos fueron superiores a los indicados por la norma para ladrillo suelo-cemento. Se concluye que los ladrillos no fueron aprobados en cuanto a ensayos de compresión simple, absorción de água, límites de liquidez, límite de plasticidad, por no cumplir con los requisitos establecidos en NBR 8491/2012 y NBR 10833/2012.Este Trabalho tem como objetivo investigar as propriedades físicas e mecânicas do tijolo solo cimento com a utilização de resíduos de borracha de pneus. Trata-se de uma alternativa para solucionar um grave problema ambiental que existe nacionalmente, pois são descartados mais de 30 milhões de pneus, pois a grande maioria é disposta em locais inadequados, auxiliando na propagação de doenças e na poluição do meio ambiente. A metodologia empregada consistiu em ensaios laboratoriais do limite de liquidez, plasticidade do solo e após a moldagem, os tijolos foram submetidos ao ensaio de resistência a compressão e absorção. O solo apresentou alta umidade higroscópica acima do valor estabelecido pela norma e todos as porcentagens com resíduo de pneu não obtiveram resistência a compressão acima de 2 Mpa e os valores individuais da absorção obtidos foram superiores ao indicado pela norma para tijolo solo-cimento.
