Distance Learning and continuing education: an analysis of the Improvement Course in Environmental Education in the city of Moju-PA

Resumo: | The purpose of this study is to discuss the Distance Education teaching modality as a tool for the democratization and access to continuing education courses on the environmental aspect aimed at professionals in the Education area of the Municipal Department of Education of Moju-Pará. The methodology used in the research was in the form of a field study, through the quantitative-qualitative approach based on interdisciplinarity and the definition of a single municipality for analysis that consolidates the case study method. As the main instrument for the constitution of the data, a semi-structured interview was used with the course participants who had graduated from the Improvement Course in Environmental Education, as well as simple observation and document analysis as accessory procedures. The results of the discussion and the analysis of the data showed that this training process, carried out in the Distance Education teaching modality, met the needs and expectations of the course participants since the majority indicated this teaching modality as the only possibility for carrying out processes of continuing education. Furthermore, the research subjects highlighted the autonomy and flexibility of schedules as the main advantages for courses carried out in this teaching format, even though they have also signaled obstacles such as poor internet quality and the need for greater interaction with teachers and classmates. |

La metodología utilizada en la investigación fue bajo la modalidad de estudio de campo, a través del enfoque cuantitativo-cualitativo basado en la interdisciplinariedad y la definición de un solo municipio para el análisis que consolida el método de estudio de caso. Como instrumento principal para la constitución de los datos, se utilizó la entrevista semiestructurada con los cursantes egresados del Curso de Perfeccionamiento en Educación Ambiental, así como la observación simple y el análisis de documentos como procedimientos accesorios. Los resultados de la discusión y el análisis de los datos mostraron que este proceso de formación, realizado en la modalidad de enseñanza de Educación a Distancia, cumplió con las necesidades y expectativas de los participantes del curso, ya que la mayoría señaló esta modalidad de enseñanza como la única posibilidad para realizar procesos. de educación continua. Además, los sujetos de investigación destacaron la autonomía y la flexibilidad de horarios como las principales ventajas de los cursos realizados en este formato de enseñanza, aunque también han señalado obstáculos como la mala calidad de internet y la necesidad de una mayor interacción con profesores y compañeros.O objetivo deste estudo é discutir a modalidade de ensino Educação a Distância como ferramenta para a democratização e o acesso aos cursos de formação continuada sob a vertente ambiental voltados para profissionais da área da Educação da Secretaria Municipal de Educação de Moju-Pará. O método de pesquisa utilizado foi estudo de caso, caracterizado pela definição de um único município para análise, por meio de estudo de campo realizado em uma abordagem quanti-qualitativa pautada na interdisciplinaridade. Como principal instrumento para a constituição dos dados, utilizou-se a entrevista semiestruturada junto aos cursistas egressos do Curso de Aperfeiçoamento em Educação Ambiental e também a observação simples e a análise documental como procedimentos acessórios. Os resultados da discussão e a análise dos dados evidenciaram que tal processo formativo, realizado na modalidade de ensino Educação a Distância, atendeu às necessidades e às expectativas dos cursistas, já que a maioria sinalizou tal modalidade de ensino como única possibilidade para a realização de processos de formação continuada.
