Interval training and its efficiency for weight loss in healthy adults: a systematic review

Resumo: | The aim of the present study was to review the effect of interval training on weight loss in adults. A search was made for the materials through Google Scholar, based on articles published between January 2011 and December 2020. Six researchers make up this review and the following information is addressed in them: interval training protocols, HIIT, interval training efficiency, advantages of interval training, physiological adaptations from interval training, predominant energy pathways in interval training, interval training and weight loss, intermittent exercises, interval exercises and VO2max. Two studies do not define interval training as influential in weight loss, while four points out the relationship between volume and intensity of the methodology studied, great influence on general physical changes and focus on weight loss. Even considering this direct relationship, the proposed intensity is responsible for the quality and quantity of the result sought. |

Se realizó una búsqueda de los materiales a través de Google Scholar, a partir de artículos publicados entre enero de 2011 y diciembre de 2020. Seis estudios componen esta revisión y en ellos se aborda la siguiente información: protocolos de entrenamiento interválico, HIIT, eficiencia del entrenamiento interválico, ventajas del entrenamiento interválico, adaptaciones fisiológicas del entrenamiento interválico, vías de energía predominantes en el entrenamiento interválico, entrenamiento interválico y pérdida de peso, intermitencia ejercicios, ejercicios de intervalos y VO2max. Dos estudios no definen el entrenamiento interválico como influyente en la pérdida de peso, mientras que cuatro señalan la relación entre volumen e intensidad de la metodología estudiada, gran influencia en los cambios físicos generales y foco en la pérdida de peso. Aun considerando esta relación directa, la intensidad propuesta es responsable de la calidad y cantidad del resultado buscado.O objetivo do presente estudo foi revisar o efeito do treinamento intervalado no emagrecimento em adultos. Foi realizado uma busca pelos materiais através do Google Acadêmico, com base em artigos publicados entre janeiro, do ano de 2011 e o mês de dezembro, do ano de 2021. Seis artigos compõem esta revisão e neles são abordadas as seguintes informações: protocolos do treinamento intervalado, HIIT, eficiência do treinamento intervalado, vantagens do treinamento intervalado, adaptações fisiológicas provenientes do treinamento intervalado, vias energéticas predominantes no treinamento intervalado, treinamento intervalado e emagrecimento, exercícios intermitentes, exercícios intervalados e VO2máx. Dois estudos não definem o treinamento intervalado tão influentes no emagrecimento, enquanto quatro apontam a relação entre volume e intensidade da metodologia estudada grande influência nas alterações físicas gerais e foco no emagrecimento.
