Resumo: Introduction: There are several factors that can cause problems that affect oral aesthetics and, among them, the lack of harmony between the shape, alignment and disposition of the anterior teeth is one of the most frequently observed, intensified by dental darkening. Objective: To report a clinical case, in which the direct surgical technique of aesthetic facets in composite resin was used as an alternative for restorative treatment for anterior teeth, after unsatisfactory orthodontic treatment from an aesthetic point of view. Case report: Young patient, 23 years old, male, leucoderma, attended the Faculty of Dentistry at UFRJ, complaining about his smile, especially in relation to the aesthetics of the upper anterior dental elements. On clinical examination, there was a discrepancy in the proportion of the size between the upper central incisors and the lateral incisors. The treatment plan consisted of making composite resin veneers, following the recommendation protocol for phosphoric acid and adhesive system, according to the manufacturer's standards. Conclusion: Direct veneers in composite resin represent an excellent option, since nanotechnological resin composites are capable of naturally, reliably and safely mimicking the dental structure, through a minimally invasive technique, remaining satisfactory for a long time and presenting excellent cost benefit.

Research, Society and Development2020-06-27info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/543710.33448/rsd-v9i8.5437Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 8; e123985437Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 8; e123985437Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 8; e1239854372525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/5437/4575Copyright (c) 2020 Pedro Lucas D'Onofre, João Victor Frazão Câmara, Renato Vieira de Paiva, Gisele Damiana da Silveira Pereira, Cauli Lima Capilléinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessD'Onofre, Pedro LucasCâmara, João Victor FrazãoPaiva, Renato Vieira dePereira, Gisele Damiana da SilveiraCapillé, Cauli Lima2020-08-20T18:00:17Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/5437Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:28:57.077492Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
