Emotional competence: how can games contribute to their development

Resumo: Many experiences influence or develop emotional skills, among which we highlight the interaction with games. This work aims to discuss the games and how they can influence the development of emotional skills, trying to describe what to reveal or the game as an alternative to create experiences that help, especially children, to deal with their emotions. To this end, a narrative literature review was conducted, observing procedures such as the survey of theoretical references that describe the concepts related to the problem in question, a definition of central references, reading, and systematization of these references, analysis, and discussion. The review enlightened that emotional competence involves how we express and deal with emotions and that competence can be improved. The results reinforce the games, as activities that involve rules, challenges, objectives, and consequences, can contribute to its development. It is concluded that intentional activities based on the use of games and mediation can offer significant contributions in contexts of school intervention.

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo discutir las características de los juegos y cómo pueden influir en el desarrollo de la competencia emocional, buscando describir la evidencia que revela el juego como una alternativa para crear experiencias que ayuden, especialmente a los niños, a manejar sus emociones. Con este fin, se realizó una revisión de la literatura narrativa, observando procedimientos tales como la creación de marcos teóricos que describían los conceptos relacionados con el problema en cuestión, la definición de marcos centrales, la lectura y sistematización de estos marcos, análisis y discusión. La revisión aclara la competencia emocional implica cómo expresamos y tratamos las emociones y que esa competencia se puede mejorar. Los resultados refuerzan que los juegos, como actividades lúdicas que involucran reglas, desafíos, objetivos y consecuencias, pueden contribuir a su desarrollo. Se concluye que las actividades intencionales y mediadas basadas en el uso de juegos pueden ofrecer contribuciones significativas en contextos de intervención escolar.Muitas experiências influenciam o desenvolvimento da competência emocional, dentre as quais se destaca a interação com jogos. Este trabalho tem o objetivo de discorrer sobre as características dos jogos e o modo como podem influenciar no desenvolvimento da competência emocional, procurando descrever evidências que revelem o jogo como uma alternativa para criar experiências que auxiliem, especialmente crianças, a lidarem com suas emoções. Para tanto, foi conduzida uma revisão de literatura narrativa observando procedimentos como o levantamento de referenciais teóricos que descrevessem os conceitos relacionados ao problema em questão, a definição de referenciais centrais, a leitura e a sistematização desses referenciais, a análise e a discussão. A revisão esclarece a competência emocional envolve a forma como expressamos e lidamos com as emoções e que essa competência pode ser aprimorada. Os resultados reforçam que os jogos, como atividades lúdicas que envolvem regras, desafios, objetivos e consequências, podem contribuir com o seu desenvolvimento.
