Vegetative diversity and arborial indexes of schools in Uruçuí, Piauí: diagnosis and intervention

Resumo: Urbanization rates have been increasing in recent years, with an equally significant population growth, increasing people's distance from vegetated areas. The objective was to analyze the afforestation indexes of public schools of Basic Education in Uruçuí-PI. Previous visits were made to know the internal spaces of these institutions, as well as a qualitative and quantitative survey of their tree indexes, through the projections of the tree indexes of the 03 (three) researched educational institutions, where it was possible to register 167 trees, distributed in 14 species and 10 botanical families, 64% of which are native species in terms of biodiversity. However, in terms of population, 52% are exotic individuals. The study showed low rates in the U.E. José Patrício Franco, requiring actions that aim to correct the current situation. However, this institution does not have enough spaces to implement afforestation, which requires alternative measures. On the other hand, the most satisfactory results for these indexes were registered at Campus Uruçuí. In this sense, the U.E. Cícero Coelho was selected for this intervention. Thus, it is expected that the planting work will contribute to achieving better afforestation rates.

El objetivo fue analizar los índices de forestación de las escuelas públicas de Educación Básica en Uruçuí-PI. Se realizaron visitas previas para conocer los espacios internos de estas instituciones, así como un relevamiento cualitativo y cuantitativo de sus índices arbóreos, a través de las proyecciones de los índices arbóreos de las 03 (tres) instituciones educativas investigadas, donde fue posible registrar 167 árboles, distribuidos en 14 especies y 10 familias botánicas, 64% de las cuales son especies nativas en términos de biodiversidad. Sin embargo, en términos de población, el 52% son individuos exóticos. El estudio mostró tasas bajas en la U.E. José Patrício Franco, requiriendo acciones que tengan como objetivo corregir la situación actual. Sin embargo, esta institución no cuenta con espacios suficientes para implementar la forestación, lo que requiere de medidas alternativas. Por otro lado, los resultados más satisfactorios para estos índices se registraron en el Campus Uruçuí. En este sentido, la U.E. Cícero Coelho fue seleccionada para esta intervención. Por lo tanto, se espera que los trabajos de plantación contribuyan a lograr mejores tasas de forestación.As taxas de urbanização vêm aumentando nos últimos anos, com um crescimento populacional igualmente significativo, ampliando o distanciamento das pessoas das áreas com vegetação. Objetivou-se analisar índices de arborização de escolas públicas da Educação Básica de Uruçuí-PI. Foram realizadas visitas prévias para conhecer os espaços internos dessas instituições, bem como um levantamento quali-quantitativo de seus índices arbóreos, através das projeções dos índices arbóreos das 03 (três) instituições de ensino pesquisadas, onde foi possível o registro de 167 árvores, distribuídas em 14 espécies e 10 famílias botânicas, sendo que, em termos de biodiversidade, 64% são espécies nativas. Entretanto, em termos populacionais, 52% são indivíduos exóticos. O estudo mostrou baixos índices na U.E. José Patrício Franco, necessitando de ações que visem corrigir a atual situação. Porém, a referida instituição não dispõe de espaços suficientes para implementação da prática de arborização, o que exige medidas alternativas. Em contrapartida, os resultados mais satisfatórios para esses índices foram registrados no Campus Uruçuí. Nesse sentido, a U.E. Cícero Coelho foi selecionada para tal intervenção.
