Nurses' view on nursing care for patients with pressure injuries

Resumo: Pressure injury can be determined as an injury that arises on the skin or tissues of parts of the body that have bony prominence. This lesion can be superficial or deep, in order to present tissue necrosis. The study aimed to analyze the perception of nurses about nursing care in the treatment and prevention of pressure injuries in patients admitted to Clinical-Surgical Units of a hospital located in the region of Vale do Taquari, in Rio Grande do Sul (RS). This research is characterized as a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study, carried out with nurses who work in the Clinical-Surgical Units of a hospital located in the Vale do Taquari region, in RS. The collected data were studied using the theme analysis technique, proposed by Minayo, and covered three stages: pre-analysis, exploration of the material and treatment of the results. The results point to the following categories: treatment of pressure injuries in inpatient units, guidelines performed by nurses, importance of a Commission for the Treatment of Wounds and specific protocols and prevention of pressure injuries in inpatient units. The research can contribute to sensitize the nursing team that works at the hospital of the hospital under study, promoting a reflection on their way of care, so that, from that, they can implement improvements in the care of patients with pressure injuries or in prevention complications or primary prevention, aiming to improve the quality of care for inpatients.

Esta lesión puede ser superficial o profunda, para presentar necrosis tisular. El estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la percepción de las enfermeras sobre la atención de enfermería en el tratamiento y la prevención de lesiones por presión en pacientes ingresados ​​en unidades clínico-quirúrgicas de un hospital ubicado en la región de Vale do Taquari, en Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Esta investigación se caracteriza por ser un estudio cualitativo, exploratorio y descriptivo, realizado con enfermeras que trabajan en las Unidades Clínico-Quirúrgicas de un hospital ubicado en la región de Vale do Taquari, en RS. Los datos recopilados se estudiaron utilizando la técnica de análisis temático, propuesta por Minayo, y cubrieron tres etapas: preanálisis, exploración del material y tratamiento de los resultados. Los resultados apuntan a las siguientes categorías: tratamiento de lesiones por presión en unidades de hospitalización, pautas realizadas por enfermeras, importancia de una Comisión para el Tratamiento de Heridas y protocolos específicos y prevención de lesiones por presión en unidades de hospitalización. La investigación puede contribuir a sensibilizar al equipo de enfermería que trabaja en la hospitalización del hospital en estudio, promoviendo una reflexión sobre su forma de cuidar, para que, a partir de eso, puedan implementar mejoras en la atención de pacientes con lesiones por presión o en prevención complicaciones o prevención primaria, con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de la atención de pacientes hospitalizados.Lesão por pressão pode ser determinada como uma lesão que surge na pele ou em tecidos de locais do corpo que apresentam proeminência óssea. Esta lesão pode ser superficial ou profunda, de modo a apresentar necrose do tecido. O estudo objetivou analisar a percepção do enfermeiro sobre o cuidado de enfermagem no tratamento e prevenção da lesão de pressão em pacientes internados em Unidades Clinico-cirúrgicos de um hospital localizado na região do Vale do Taquari, no Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Esta pesquisa se caracteriza como um estudo qualitativo, exploratório e descritivo, realizado com enfermeiros que trabalham nas Unidades Clínico-cirúrgicos de um hospital localizado na região do Vale do Taquari, no RS. Os dados coletados foram estudados mediante a utilização da técnica de análise de temática, proposta por Minayo, e abrangeu três etapas: a pré-análise, exploração do material e tratamento dos resultados. Os resultados apontam para as seguintes categorias: tratamento de lesões de pressão em unidades de internação, orientações realizados pelo enfermeiro, importância da Comissão de Tratamento de Feridas e dos protocolos específicos e prevenção de lesões de pressão em unidade de internação.
