Tourist capacities of Jericoacoara based on Trip Advisor data

Resumo: In an extremely volatile environment, hotels seek improvements in the services and products on offer. This is mainly due to the competitiveness and competition experienced by the sector. The difficulty of those who integrate the segment to remain becomes their main concern. And, in the face of this, awakening strategic and competitive attitudes are necessary for the well-being and survival of the members of the sector in question. In this context, the objective of this study is to identify the tourist capabilities that effectively contribute to the competitive advantage of the hotel segment based on Tripadvisor data. Its methodology was to qualitatively analyze the evaluations of hotel service users who showed dissatisfaction with the accommodation experience and left their opinions on the Tripadvisor site. In the research, the Grounded Theory (GT) method was used in its second generation (Charmaz, 2006), and its locus was the Vila de Jericoacoara, located in the municipality of Jijoca de Jericoacoara. The treatment of data and indicators on tourism and accommodation in the village occurred through categorization, in favor of the use of Atlas TI and Iramuteq software. The content analysis technique was performed using information based on reviews made by guests who were more than dissatisfied with their accommodation. Based on the results presented, it was observed that the objective of the study was achieved, as it was possible to identify which tourist capabilities effectively contribute to the competitive advantage of hotel businesses, based on data collected at the online travel agency researched.

Esto se debe principalmente a la competitividad y competencia que experimenta el sector. La dificultad de quienes integran el segmento para permanecer se convierte en su principal preocupación. Y, ante ello, es necesario despertar actitudes estratégicas y competitivas para el bienestar y supervivencia de los integrantes del sector en cuestión. En este contexto, el objetivo de este estudio es identificar las capacidades turísticas que efectivamente contribuyen a la ventaja competitiva del segmento hotelero a partir de los datos de Tripadvisor. Su metodología fue analizar cualitativamente las valoraciones de los usuarios de servicios hoteleros que mostraron insatisfacción con la experiencia de alojamiento y dejaron sus opiniones en la web de Tripadvisor. En la investigación se utilizó el método Grounded Theory (GT) en su segunda generación (Charmaz, 2006), y su locus fue la Vila de Jericoacoara, ubicada en el municipio de Jijoca de Jericoacoara. El tratamiento de los datos e indicadores sobre el turismo y el alojamiento en la aldea ocurrió a través de la categorización, a favor del uso del software Atlas TI e Iramuteq. La técnica de análisis de contenido se realizó a partir de información basada en opiniones realizadas por huéspedes que se mostraron más que insatisfechos con su alojamiento. A partir de los resultados presentados, se observó que se logró el objetivo del estudio, ya que fue posible identificar qué capacidades turísticas contribuyen efectivamente a la ventaja competitiva de los negocios hoteleros, a partir de los datos recopilados en la agencia de viajes online investigada.Em um ambiente extremamente volátil, hotéis buscam melhorias em serviços e produtos em oferta. Isso ocorre principalmente em virtude da competitividade e concorrência vivenciada pelo setor. A dificuldade em permanecer de quem integra o segmento torna-se sua principal preocupação. E, diante disso, despertar atitudes estratégicas e competitivas são necessárias ao bem estar e sobrevivência dos integrantes do setor em questão. Nesse contexto, o objetivo desse estudo é identificar as capacidades turísticas que contribuem efetivamente para a vantagem competitiva do segmento hoteleiro com base nos dados do Tripadvisor. Teve por metodologia, analisar, de forma qualitativa, as avaliações de usuários do serviço de hotelaria que demostraram insatisfação com a experiência de hospedagem e deixaram suas opiniões no site Tripadvisor. Na pesquisa, utilizou-se para tal o método Grounded Theory (GT) em sua segunda geração (Charmaz, 2006), e teve como locus a Vila de Jericoacoara, localizada no município de Jijoca de Jericoacoara. O tratamento dos dados e indicadores sobre turismo e hospedagem na vila ocorreu por meio de categorização, em prol do uso dos softwares Atlas TI e Iramuteq. Foi realizada a técnica análise do conteúdo por meio de informações baseadas em avaliações feitas por hóspedes que se mostraram mais que insatisfeitos em suas hospedagens.
