The role of professionals in the field of aesthetics in health: A narrative review

Resumo: The incessant quest for aesthetic beauty has become a significant part of contemporary life, influencing both men and women. However, it is essential to emphasize the importance of prior assessment and trust in the professional before any aesthetic procedure, whether facial or body. The main aim of this study is to highlight the importance of anamnesis and the competence required of professionals in the field when carrying out their work. This is a narrative review study that explores the impact of aesthetic professionals on the physical and mental health of clients, emphasizing the importance of continuous training. Articles published between 2019 and 2023 in Portuguese were selected from databases such as Google Scholar and Scielo. The research revealed that the search for aesthetics has been influenced by the media, and the importance of laboratory tests before procedures to assess the patient's state of health. In addition, there is a need for qualified professionals with ethics and good communication skills to ensure patient safety. Aesthetic treatments improve quality of life and require a detailed anamnesis and patient care. Qualified professionals, especially biomedical professionals, are vital in positively influencing the patient's image. Aesthetics should include physical and emotional health, not just appearance.

Sin embargo, es fundamental enfatizar la importancia de la evaluación previa y la confianza en el profesional antes de cualquier procedimiento estético, ya sea facial o corporal. El principal objetivo de este estudio es resaltar la importancia de la anamnesis y la competencia requerida de los profesionales en el campo a la hora de realizar su trabajo. Se trata de un estudio de revisión narrativa que explora el impacto de los profesionales de la estética en la salud física y mental de los clientes, enfatizando la importancia de la formación continua. Se seleccionaron artículos publicados entre 2019 y 2023 en portugués en bases de datos como Google Scholar y Scielo. La investigación reveló que la búsqueda de la estética ha sido influenciada por los medios de comunicación, la importancia de los exámenes de laboratorio antes de los procedimientos para evaluar el estado de salud del paciente. Además, se necesitan profesionales cualificados, con ética y buena comunicación para garantizar la seguridad del paciente. Los tratamientos estéticos mejoran la calidad de vida, requiriendo una anamnesis y un cuidado detallados del paciente. Los profesionales cualificados, especialmente los profesionales biomédicos, desempeñan un papel fundamental a la hora de influir positivamente en la imagen del paciente. La estética debe abarcar el bienestar físico y emocional, no sólo la apariencia.A busca incessante pela beleza estética tem se tornado uma parte significativa da vida contemporânea, influenciando tanto homens quanto mulheres. No entanto, é fundamental enfatizar a importância da avaliação prévia e da confiança no profissional antes de qualquer procedimento estético, seja facial ou corporal. O objetivo principal deste estudo é ressaltar a importância da anamnese e da competência exigida dos profissionais da área na execução do seu trabalho. Este é um estudo de revisão narrativa que explora o impacto dos profissionais estetas na saúde física e mental dos clientes, enfatizando a importância da formação contínua. Foram selecionados artigos publicados entre 2019 e 2023 em português em bases como Google Acadêmico e Scielo. A pesquisa revelou que a busca pela estética tem sido influenciada pela mídia, a importância dos exames laboratoriais antes de procedimentos para avaliação do estado de saúde do paciente. Além disso, verifica-se a necessidade de profissionais qualificados, com ética e boa comunicação para garantir a segurança dos pacientes. Tratamentos estéticos melhoram a qualidade de vida, exigindo anamnese detalhada e cuidado com o paciente. Profissionais qualificados, em especial biomédicos, desempenham papel vital na influência positiva da imagem do paciente.
