Challenges of nurses in assisting patients with hearing disabilities: a literature review

Resumo: Nursing is the science and art of caring, it is the health care of an individual, family, and their community, so it must do the process of promotion, maintenance, recovery of health. Communication plays a very important role in the process of assisting the hearing impaired client, and the deaf client, as it is the first stage of interaction, understanding of the clients, and thus discovering their point of view, assessing their problems, and from from that start the sequence of diagnoses and interventions. This is a literature review survey of the literature, with a qualitative approach and descriptive character in order to describe the challenges of nurses in assisting patients with hearing loss. Searches were carried out in the database of the Virtual Health Library (VHL) - Bireme, between June and July 2020, in the databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Science (LILACS), Nursing Databases ( BDENF), Electronic Scientific Online Library (SciELO). From this preliminary reading, 10 articles were selected that maintained coherence with the presented descriptors and with the objectives of the study. It can be concluded that the present study shows that higher education has gaps in the professional training of nurses with regard to communication. It is essential that all nursing professionals are aware and aware that they should always be in search of new knowledge and training on social inclusion in the health of the hearing impaired.

La comunicación juega un papel muy importante en el proceso de asistencia al cliente con discapacidad auditiva y al cliente sordo, ya que es la primera etapa de interacción, comprensión de los clientes y, por lo tanto, descubrir su punto de vista, evaluar sus problemas y a partir de ahí comienza la secuencia de diagnósticos e intervenciones. Esta es una encuesta de revisión de la literatura, con un enfoque cualitativo y un carácter descriptivo para describir los desafíos de las enfermeras para ayudar a los pacientes con pérdida auditiva. Se realizaron búsquedas en la base de datos de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS) - Bireme, entre junio y julio de 2020, en las bases de datos: Literatura Latinoamericana y del Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud (LILACS), Bases de datos de enfermería ( BDENF), Biblioteca electrónica científica en línea (SciELO). De esta lectura preliminar, se seleccionaron 10 artículos que mantuvieron la coherencia con los descriptores presentados y con los objetivos del estudio. Se puede concluir que el presente estudio muestra que la educación superior tiene brechas en la formación profesional de las enfermeras con respecto a la comunicación. Es esencial que todas las enfermeras profesionales estén conscientes y conscientes de que siempre deben buscar nuevos conocimientos y capacitación sobre inclusión social en la salud de las personas con discapacidad auditiva.A enfermagem é a ciência e a arte do cuidar, é o cuidado da saúde de um indivíduo, família, e sua comunidade, por isso deve fazer o processo de promoção, manutenção, recuperação da saúde. A comunicação possui um papel muito importante no processo de assistência ao cliente com deficiência auditiva, e ao cliente surdo, pois é a primeira etapa de interação, compreensão dos clientes, e assim descobrir o seu ponto de vista, avaliar seus problemas, e a partir disso começar a sequência de diagnósticos e intervenções. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de revisão bibliográfica da literatura, de abordagem qualitativa e caráter descritivo com objetivo de descrever os desafios do enfermeiro na assistência ao paciente com deficiência auditiva. Foram realizadas buscas na base de dados da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) – Bireme, entre junho e julho de 2020, nas bases de dados: Literatura Latico Americana e do Caribe em Ciência da Saúde (LILACS), Bases de Dados da Enfermagem (BDENF), Biblioteca Eletrônica Cientifica Online (SciELO). A partir dessa leitura preliminar, foram selecionados 10 artigos que mantinham coerência com os descritores apresentados e com os objetivos do estudo. Pode se concluir que o presente estudo, mostra que o ensino superior apresenta lacunas na formação profissional dos enfermeiros no que se refere a comunicação.
