Resumo: This study aimed to explore the impasses and challenges about the process of school inclusion of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the city of Umuarama-PR during the COVID-19 pandemic. The volunteers were the parents of these students and the guardians of the 20 municipal schools in Umuarama through a questionnaire to understand how the school inclusion of these students works and what aspects could be improved. The questionnaire was based on objective and descriptive questions that sought to better understand the challenges faced by both parents and school principals. 16 answers were obtained from parents of students, and we have more than 100 students with ASD registered in the municipal network, evidencing the low adherence by the family and making it clear how difficult it is for them to accept the subject. In relation to the municipal schools, only 9 out of 18 answered the questions, and most of the answers were very similar, showing that all of them had difficulties adapting to their first students, especially to understand how to deal with them and make them develop in the same way as the others. Thus, when the study was concluded and the answers analyzed, it became clear that even though there has been much progress compared to decades ago, there is still much to be done, especially regarding the family acceptance process, which is an essential part of this puzzle and more than necessary for the child to be able to develop.

Research, Society and Development2022-06-21info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3082610.33448/rsd-v11i8.30826Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 8; e34911830826Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 8; e34911830826Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 8; e349118308262525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/30826/26594Copyright (c) 2022 Ana Beatriz Pinheiro Zaupa; Cleidi Boing Voltolini; Danilo Henrique Roratto; Marcila Martins; Rosineia Cebrian; Giuliana Zardeto; Emerson Luiz Botelho Lourenço; Daniela de Cassia Faglioni Boleta Ceranto; Patrícia Gizeli Brassalli de Melohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessZaupa, Ana Beatriz PinheiroVoltolini, Cleidi Boing Roratto, Danilo HenriqueMartins, MarcilaCebrian, RosineiaZardeto, GiulianaLourenço, Emerson Luiz Botelho Ceranto, Daniela de Cassia Faglioni BoletaMelo, Patrícia Gizeli Brassalli de2022-07-01T13:34:06Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/30826Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:47:26.395699Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
