Waste in Portugal - An Analysis of Plastic Waste

Resumo: The present article deals with public policies in the treatment and correct destination of plastic waste in Portugal, and the consequences that this waste can provoke in the seas where the destination of the great part is after the use. Plastic in Portugal is one of the items with the lowest recycling rate in the five characteristics of urban household waste, behind many European Community countries that have an index of more than 42% presented by the Portuguese, according to Green Point, 2018. The article also addresses the best treatment of this waste and how it should be harnessed to generate employment and income for thousands of people, rather than being landfill or thrown across the rivers.

El plástico Portugal es uno de los elementos con una menor tasa de reciclaje en las cinco características de los residuos domésticos urbanos, detrás de muchos países de la Comunidad Europea que tienen un índice más alto que el 42% presentado por el portugués como Green Dot, 2018. El artículo también que dirige el mejor tratamiento de estos residuos y cómo debe ser aprovechado para generar empleo y renta a miles de personas, en lugar de ser destinado a rellenos sanitarios o jugado en los mares a través de los ríos.O presente artigo trata das políticas públicas no tratamento e destino correto do resíduo plástico em Portugal, e as consequências que estes resíduos podem provocar nos mares a onde é o destino de grande parte depois do uso. O plástico em Portugal é um dos itens com menor índice de reciclagem nas cinco características dos resíduos domésticos urbanos, ficando atrás de muitos países da Comunidade Europeia que possuem um índice superior a 42% apresentado pelos Portugueses, conforme Ponto Verde, 2018.
