Resumo: Objectives: Quantify a total of students with ideation suicidal among nursing and medicine graduates of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) and characterize the profile who present this disorder. Methods: Descriptive, quantitative, and cross-sectional study. Were applied electronic questionnaires, from March to June 2019, to nursing and medicine students of FURG. Results: From a total of 223 completed questionnaires, 45 showed characteristics of suicidal ideation. Predominance of nursing students (75.56%, n=34), women (84.44%, n=38), single people (42.22%, n=19), and mean age of 24.6 (±7.61) years old. Suicidal ideation was more presented in 3rd semester of nursing and 1st year of medicine. Conclusion: Suicidal ideation, be it passive or active, induce the necessity of carer sight about those who suffer. Discussing the theme motivates solutions and, consequently, treatments to be applied, in order to, those who will serve the population could exercise their work in its technical and emotional fullness.

Métodos: Estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo y transversal. Se aplicaron cuestionarios electrónicos, de marzo a junio de 2019, para alumnos de los cursos de Enfermería y Medicina de la FURG. Resultados: De un total de 223 cuestionarios completados, 45 presentaron características de ideación suicida. Predominio de estudiantes de enfermería (75,56%, n=34), mujeres (84,44%, n=38), solteros (42,22%, n=19), con edad media de 24,6 (±7,61) años. El pensamiento suicida estuvo más presente en tercer semestre de enfermería y primer año de medicina. Conclusión: La ideación suicida, ya sea pasiva o activa, provoca la necesidad de mirar más de cerca a quienes la padecen. Discutir el tema motiva a generar soluciones y, en consecuencia, tratamientos sean aplicados, para que quienes atenderán a la población puedan ejercer su oficio en su plenitud técnica y emocional.Objetivos: Quantificar o total de alunos com ideação suicida entre os graduandos de enfermagem e medicina da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) e caracterizar o perfil dos estudantes que apresentam quadros desse transtorno. Métodos: Estudo descritivo, quantitativo e com delineamento transversal. Foram aplicados questionários eletrônicos, de março a junho de 2019, para alunos dos cursos de Enfermagem e Medicina da FURG. Resultados: De um total de 223 questionários respondidos, 45 apresentaram características de ideação suicida. Predominância de estudantes de enfermagem (75,56%, n=34), mulheres (84,44%, n=38), de solteiros (42,22%, n=19), e com idade média de 24,6 (±7,61) anos. O pensamento suicida se fez mais presente no 3º semestre de enfermagem e 1º ano de medicina. Conclusão: A ideação suicida, seja ela passiva ou ativa, provoca a necessidade de um olhar mais atento sobre aqueles que a sofrem.
