The Implantation of Science, Technology and Society in Physics teaching at the Federal Institute of Maranhão: a methodological intervention proposal

Resumo: The aim of this investigation is to analyze the assumptions of the CTS approach (Science, Technology and Society) as a methodological alternative to improve the learning of the Physics discipline of students at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Maranhão (IFMA). The work was developed along the lines of field research. For data collection, the instruments used were: analysis of official documents proposing the curriculum for high school, exploratory questionnaire and conducting classes with the proposed approach. For the triangulation of the data we involved three categories of analysis: Aspects of the pedagogical practice related to the teaching methodologies of Physics; Relationship of students with the discipline of Physics; Students and the new teaching approach (CTS). According to the results obtained, it was found that the CTS approach is feasible to be implemented at IFMA as an alternative to improve teaching and learning of the exact subjects.

El trabajo se desarrolló siguiendo las líneas de investigación de campo. Para la recolección de datos, los instrumentos utilizados fueron: análisis de documentos oficiales que proponen el plan de estudios para la escuela secundaria, cuestionario exploratorio y realización de clases con el enfoque propuesto. Para la triangulación de los datos, incluimos tres categorías de análisis: aspectos de la práctica pedagógica relacionados con las metodologías de enseñanza de la física; Relación de estudiantes con la disciplina de Física; Estudiantes y el nuevo enfoque de enseñanza (CTS). De acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos, se encontró que el enfoque CTS es factible de implementar en IFMA como una alternativa para mejorar la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las materias exactas.Objetiva-se com esta investigação analisar os pressupostos da abordagem CTS (Ciência, Tecnologia e Sociedade) como alternativa metodológica vista a melhoria da aprendizagem da disciplina de Física dos alunos do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Maranhão (IFMA). O trabalho foi desenvolvido nos moldes da pesquisa de campo. Para a coleta dos dados, os instrumentos utilizados foram: análise dos documentos oficiais que propõem o currículo para o Ensino Médio, questionário exploratório e regência de aulas com a abordagem proposta. Para a triangulação dos dados envolvemos três categorias de análise: Aspectos da prática pedagógica relacionados às metodologias de ensino de Física; Relação dos alunos com a disciplina de Física; Os alunos e a nova abordagem (CTS) de ensino.
