Resumo: Palliative Care is provided to patients with progressive and irreversible diseases when there is no therapeutic possibility of cure. This care is not intended to delay or accelerate death, but only to improve the quality of life in the terminally ill. Knowing how to carry out an effective care management for patients at this stage of life is of paramount importance to offer greater comfort, since healing at this time is not a priority and could even lead to greater suffering for the patient and their families. In view of this, the objective of the study was to understand the difficulties of nursing professionals in the management of care for cancer patients in palliative care. It is a qualitative study, of the integrative review type, with three articles selected in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Pubmed databases between the period of 2015 and 2020. After reading, analyzing and interpreting the data, we can to verify that the main difficulty listed in the management of care was the lack of professional training, since the complexity of cancer care for palliative patients requires both technical-scientific and interpersonal skills. There is a need for new research to better elucidate the difficulties of nursing professionals in managing the area of ​​palliative care to promote better comfort and excellent care in this very delicate stage of life.

Esta atención no tiene como objetivo retrasar o acelerar la muerte, sino solo mejorar la calidad de vida de los enfermos terminales. Saber llevar a cabo una gestión asistencial eficaz a los pacientes en esta etapa de la vida es de suma importancia para ofrecer un mayor confort, ya que la curación en este momento no es una prioridad y podría llegar incluso a generar un mayor sufrimiento para el paciente y sus familiares. Ante esto, el objetivo del estudio fue comprender las dificultades de los profesionales de enfermería en el manejo de la atención al paciente oncológico en cuidados paliativos. Se trata de un estudio cualitativo, de tipo revisión integradora, con tres artículos seleccionados en la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS) y bases de datos Pubmed entre el período 2015 y 2020. Luego de la lectura, análisis e interpretación de los datos, podemos comprobar que la principal dificultad enumerada en la gestión de los cuidados fue la falta de formación profesional, ya que la complejidad de la atención oncológica al paciente paliativo requiere habilidades tanto técnico-científicas como interpersonales. Es necesario realizar nuevas investigaciones para dilucidar mejor las dificultades de los profesionales de enfermería en el manejo del área de cuidados paliativos para promover un mayor confort y una atención excelente en esta etapa tan delicada de la vida.Os Cuidados Paliativos são prestados a pacientes com doenças progressivas e irreversíveis quando não há possibilidades terapêuticas de cura. Esse cuidado não objetiva retardar ou acelerar a morte, mas unicamente melhorar a qualidade de vida na terminalidade. Saber realizar um gerenciamento de cuidado efetivo frente aos pacientes nesta etapa de vida é de suma importância para oferecer maior conforto, visto que a cura neste momento não se torna prioridade e poderia, até mesmo, levar maior sofrimento ao doente e seus familiares. Visto isso o objetivo do estudo foi conhecer as dificuldades dos profissionais de enfermagem na gestão do cuidado ao paciente oncológico em cuidados paliativos. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, do tipo revisão integrativa, com três artigos selecionados nas bases de dados Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e Pubmed entre o período de 2015 e 2020. Após a leitura, análise e interpretação dos dados, pode-se verificar que a principal dificuldade elencada no gerenciamento dos cuidados foi a ausência de capacitação profissional, uma vez que a complexidade do cuidado oncológico ao paciente paliativo requer habilidades tanto técnico-científicas como de relações interpessoais.
