Resumo: Milk production in the world is growing, as it represents part of the world economy. In view of this scenario, the concern with the quantity and quality of milk and the herd has been relevant. Heat stress is the consequence of the absence of shade on rural properties, impairing the production and reproduction of animals. In this regard, silvopastoral systems have been favorable for the performance of dairy cows, since shading promotes positive effects on milk production, well-being, comfort and fertility, in addition, increasing the availability of nutrients in the soil, improving pastures. Therefore, the aim of this review was to present the benefits of shading provided by silvopastoral systems in milk production and thermal comfort of animals.

Ante este escenario, la preocupación por la cantidad y calidad de la leche y el rebaño ha sido relevante. El estrés por calor es consecuencia de la ausencia de sombra en las propiedades rurales, lo que perjudica la producción y reproducción de los animales. En este sentido, los sistemas silvopastoriles han sido favorables para el desempeño de las vacas lecheras, ya que la sombra promueve efectos positivos en la producción de leche, el bienestar, el confort y la fertilidad, además, aumenta la disponibilidad de nutrientes en el suelo, mejorando los pastos. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de esta revisión fue presentar los beneficios del sombreado que brindan los sistemas silvopastoriles en la producción de leche y el confort térmico de los animales.A produção de leite no mundo é crescente, pois representa parte da economia mundial. Diante deste cenário, a preocupação com a quantidade e qualidade do leite e do rebanho tem sido relevante. O estresse por calor é a consequência da ausência de sombra nas propriedades rurais, prejudicando a produção e reprodução dos animais. Neste intuito, os sistemas silvipastoris têm sido favoráveis para o desempenho de vacas leiteiras, uma vez que o sombreamento promove efeitos positivos na produção de leite, bem estar, conforto e fertilidade, além disso, aumentam a disponibilidade de nutrientes no solo, melhorando as pastagens.
