Physiological potential of soybean seeds in west Bahia

Resumo: Given the importance of verifying the germination potential of the seeds, in order to subsidize the choice of the soybean cultivar to be installed in the field, the objective was to investigate the germination potential of the seeds 84185RSF IPRO (OH JURNA), SYN1687 IPRO , BRAMAX DOMÍNIO IPRO, NS 8400 IPRO and M 8349 IPRO, in field conditions in the West of Bahia. Soybean crop research together with the production of Barreiras-BA, a reference municipality of São Desidério in the Northeast region of Brazil. A randomized block design was used with five treatments (cultivars) and four blocks. Between the weight of a thousand seeds, the water content, the emergence (E), the emergence speed index (IVE) and the emergence speed (VE). The highest and lowest thousand seed weights were selected for seeds of cultivars 84185RSF IPRO and NS 8400 IPRO333, respectively. Soybean cultivars differ significantly in relation to emergence and emergence speed index. The seeds of the cultivar SYN 868 IPRO presented a lower physiological potential in relation to the seeds of the cultivars NS 8400 IPRO and M 8349 IPRO; what could happen to their establishment in the countryside, especially in unfavorable conditions.

Investigación del cultivo de soja junto a la producción de Barreiras-BA, municipio de referencia de São Desidério en la región Nordeste de Brasil. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques al azar con cinco tratamientos (cultivares) y cuatro bloques. Entre el peso de mil semillas, el contenido de agua, la emergencia (E), el índice de velocidad de emergencia (IVE) y la velocidad de emergencia (VE). Los pesos de mil semillas más alto y más bajo se seleccionaron para semillas de los cultivares 84185RSF IPRO y NS 8400 IPRO333, respectivamente. Los cultivares de soja difieren significativamente en relación con la emergencia y el índice de velocidad de emergencia. Las semillas del cultivar SYN 868 IPRO presentaron un potencial fisiológico menor en relación a las semillas de los cultivares NS 8400 IPRO y M 8349 IPRO; lo que podría pasar con su establecimiento en el campo, especialmente en condiciones desfavorables.Dada a importância de se verificar o potencial germinativo das sementes, a fim de se subsidiar a escolha da cultivar de soja a ser instalada no campo, objetivou-se analisar o potencial fisiológico de sementes das cultivares 84185RSF IPRO (OH JURURENA), SYN 1687 IPRO, BRAMAX DOMÍNIO IPRO, NS 8400 IPRO e M 8349 IPRO, em condições de campo no Oeste Baiano. A pesquisa foi conduzida em Barreiras-BA, área da fazenda Araucária, município referência junto com Luiz Eduardo Magalhães e São Desidério na produção da cultura de soja na região Nordeste do Brasil. Utilizou-se o delineamento em blocos casualizados com cinco tratamentos (cultivares) e quatro blocos. Foram avaliados o peso de mil sementes, o teor de água, a emergência (E), o índice de velocidade de emergência (IVE) e a velocidade de emergência (VE). O maior e menor peso de mil sementes foram verificados para as sementes das cultivares 84185RSF IPRO e NS 8400 IPRO333, respectivamente. As cultivares de soja analisadas se diferenciaram significativamente em relação à emergência e ao índice de velocidade de emergência.
