Reflections on the importance of fieldwork for studies in Environmental Sciences

Resumo: In view of the current problems of exploration and environmental degradation, there is no denying that the Environmental Sciences are gaining more and more prominence in research developed around the world, mainly in Brazil. Because it is an area that seeks to clarify questions existing in the relationship between man and nature, from the molecular level to the relationships that species establish with the environment they are inserted in. This study was carried out in order to obtain an overview regarding the importance of experimental fieldwork for the Environmental Sciences area, addressing issues such as environmental sciences in Brazil, national scientific research, general and fundamental aspects of field work and the importance of this practice for this area. The methodology used was a qualitative bibliographic study of articles and publications related to the central theme. On-site activities play an extremely important role in the training of students and researchers, allowing them to build dynamic training, where theory and practice work together in the construction of knowledge and in their personal and professional training. Encouraging the practice of field studies is fundamental in the development of quality and significant research for the country, in addition to directly impacting on the construction of new environmental perspectives.

Porque es un área que busca esclarecer las cuestiones existentes en la relación entre el hombre y la naturaleza, desde el nivel molecular hasta las relaciones que las especies establecen con el medio en el que se insertan. Este estudio se realizó con el fin de obtener una visión general sobre la importancia del trabajo de campo experimental para el área de las ciencias ambientales, abordando temas como las ciencias ambientales en Brasil, la investigación científica nacional, los aspectos generales y fundamentales del trabajo de campo y la importancia de esta práctica para esta área. La metodología utilizada fue un estudio bibliográfico cualitativo de artículos y publicaciones relacionados con el tema central. Las actividades presenciales juegan un papel de suma importancia en la formación de estudiantes e investigadores, permitiéndoles construir una formación dinámica, así la teoría y la práctica trabajan juntas en la construcción del conocimiento y en su formación personal y profesional. Fomentar la práctica de los estudios de campo es fundamental en el desarrollo de una investigación de calidad y significativa para el país, además de incidir directamente en la construcción de nuevas perspectivas ambientales.Frente aos atuais problemas de exploração e degradação ambiental, não há como negar que as Ciências Ambientais ganham cada vez mais destaque nas pesquisas desenvolvidas em todo o mundo, principalmente no Brasil. As Ciências Ambientais buscam esclarecer questionamentos existentes na relação homem e natureza, desde o nível molecular até as relações que as espécies estabelecem com o meio em que se encontram inseridas. Neste sentido, o presente estudo busca estabelecer a importância dos estudos em campo na formação de novos profissionais que atuarão na área de Ciências Ambientais avaliando também o contexto de desenvolvimento e implementação da área de Ciências Ambientais no Brasil. A metodologia utilizada foi uma revisão bibliográfica de artigos e publicações relacionadas ao tema central. Atividades realizadas in loco desenvolvem um papel de suma importância na formação dos estudantes e pesquisadores permitindo que estes construam uma formação dinâmica, onde teoria e prática trabalham conjuntamente na construção do conhecimento e na formação pessoal e profissional destes.
