Integrative and Complementary Practices as a mental health resource in Primary Health Care: Integrative Review

Resumo: Objective: to compare among the types of Integrative and Complementary Practices (PICS) the benefits offered to users with mental disorders. Methodology: Integrative review carried out in Medline databases and in the Virtual Health Library (BVS), in English Composed of Clinical Trials published between 2018 and 2022, with primary data centered on the theme, involving adults and children, no sex restriction. Results and Discussion: 66 articles were computed, after applying the exclusion and inclusion criteria, 12 studies were listed to compose the final sample. The PICS that entered and were analyzed in the study were Acupuncture, Auriculotherapy, Yoga Meditation and Mindfulness. Through the analyzed studies, it was evidenced that the PICS addressed can be effective in patients with mental disorders in Primary Health Care (PHC). Final considerations: In summary, it is clear that the use of PICS in mental health improves among the types of disorders, the depressive, due to the use of opioids, and the Autistic Spectrum (ASD), as well as postpartum depression, cognitive impairment, memory and concentration disorders, alcohol withdrawal syndrome and smoking cessation.

Metodología: Revisión integradora realizada en bases de datos Medline y en la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS), en idioma inglés, compuesta por Ensayos Clínicos publicados entre los años 2018 a 2022, con datos primarios centrados en el tema, involucrando adultos y niños, sin restricción de género. Resultados y Discusiones: Se computaron 66 artículos, después de aplicar los criterios de exclusión e inclusión, se listaron 12 estudios para componer la muestra final. Los PICS que ingresaron y fueron analizados en el estudio fueron Acupuntura, Auriculoterapia, Yoga Meditación y Mindfulness. A través de los estudios analizados, se evidenció que los PICS abordados pueden ser efectivos en pacientes con trastornos mentales en la Atención Primaria de Salud (APS). Consideraciones finales: En resumen, es claro que el uso de PICS en salud mental mejora entre los tipos de trastornos, el depresivo, por el uso de opioides, y el Espectro Autista (TEA), así como la depresión posparto, discapacidad cognitiva trastornos de la memoria y la concentración, síndrome de abstinencia alcohólica y abandono del hábito tabáquico.Objetivo: comparar dentre os tipos de Práticas Integrativas e Complementares (PICS) os benefícios ofertados aos usuários com transtorno mental. Metodologia: Revisão integrativa realizada nas bases de dados Medline e na biblioteca Virtual da Saúde (BVS), no idioma inglês, composta por Ensaios Clínicos publicados entre os anos de 2018 a 2022, com dados primários centrados na temática, envolvendo o público adulto e infantil, sem restrição de sexo. Resultados e Discussões: Foram computados 66 artigos, após a aplicação dos critérios de exclusão e inclusão, foram elencados 12 estudos para compor a amostra final. As PICS que se adentraram e foram analisadas no estudo foram a Acupuntura, Auriculoterapia, Meditação Yoga e Mindfulness. Mediante os estudos analisados, foi evidenciado que as PICS abordadas podem ser efetivas no paciente portador de transtornos mentais na Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS).
